the nerevarine and the sharmat: Death and The Devil
thinking of doing a morrowind tarot series so eyes peeled for more of these
the death card symbolises endings, change, and sudden upheavals, which i think is fitting for a character whose quest changes the religious system of an entire country and ends the lives of several living gods. also those people represent the several high ranking government officials you murder in the hortator quest, which i think is also a very Death thing to do
the devil as dagoth ur i think needs no explanation, but the two bound people are nerevar and the nerevarine, both linked to him and each other and unable to escape their fate
it must be a hard transition, going from a utility caster to a pure martial class, simply bc all the utility spells you use keep getting deleted by god.
Indesi of the Whirling Skirts, an orphaned street performer who dances for coin, versus Indesi of the Whirling Blades, Hortator and Nerevarine, who saves and dooms Morrowind in equal measure
saw a 'draw your oc as the 'it's still you' thing from undertale' post and was immediately Consumed by the idea lol
behold, my Heroes in their @tes-gala fits! (i drew these before carthach was born and then adding a Fifth Guy would throw off my symmetry so. sorry king. no pet werewolves allowed in the venue i guess)
design details and thought process under the cut:
Ahmarji the Jeweller - The Apprentice
ahma's dressed as the apprentice, so I wanted to do a sort of High Fashion spin on the basic skyrim apprentice robes. the robes themselves are kind of bland and washed out, but i figured they were probably moderately cheaply produced and so a more Expensive, Formal version of them would be using richer more expensive dyes, so the colours are a little more saturated. i've also reimagined the robes to be more khajiiti-formalwear-ish, ie a sari and a veil instead of robes and a hood. also as an ohmes at a formal occasion ahma is wearing her khajiiti facepaint that gives her more feline features, in a blue to match her blouse and skirt. the main section of the sari is embroidered with stars in the shape of the apprentice constellation, and the edges are embroidered with ta'agra writing! they're the names of the spells she uses most- just transliterations using the ta'agra font i downloaded from the ta'agra project bc i couldn't find the actual translations in their dictionary, but honestly i'm pretty proud of it considering i don't have much experience writing in scripts like that. also proud of the greater soul gem on the staff i want to suck on it like a jolly rancher
Fastulfr - The Thief
for the life of me i couldn't find a good reference for what nordic people wore for formal occasions so i just figured. regular clothes kind of but nicer fabric. hence the Tunic And Some Pants. also i really struggled with colour scheme here bc i think the historical Go-To when it came to making things more expensive in the past was making them very colourful, but i also think both fasti as a person and the thief as a concept are a bit more low-key, stick-to-the-shadows type deal. in the end i decided on black and white, with gold accents. fasti's got the thief's cloak, a bunch of pouches and bags to store his ill-gotten goods, and lots of coins to symbolise the wealth of the thief. also interestingly while i drew a suggestion of the faces you get on coins on every single one of those, and when i was finished i realised i'd drawn the faces pointing both left and right which i guess suggests the coins are all double sided. which is accidentally very fitting.
Areia Caelestis - The Warrior
the more i worked on this the more i became pretty sure the reference i used was AI generated, which was a shame bc the look Fucks but also i'm not sure how the joints work so. poor woman's walking around like c-3po. like sure the knees bend but sitting seems like it would be difficult and i imagine elbows are right out. edited the look a little to be slightly more Imperial- the leather/gold legionnaire boots, the leather legionnaire. skirt? thing? also made the gold designs on the overskirt into the axehead of the warrior, which i just think is a really cool design. also funny that it's like. Almost the amulet of talos. great choice for the hero of kvatch. amulet of my buddy's great great grandpa. honestly don't have much to say on this one it's pretty straightforward.
Indesi - The Lady
the day i don't pick the lady sign on a morrowind playthrough is the day i fuckn die. but i did have an issue bc like. what does the lady wear. a dress? am i just gonna do The Concept Of A Dress? some of the older game depictions of the lady have her with a hooded cloak which i thought would be a fun place to start designing the outfit. also thought both the Vibe of The Lady and indesi's Being An Elf would make kind of an art nouveau type flowy drapery really work. picked the colours to be quite soft and feminine, but i think it has the added benefit of giving kind of a virgin mary type of vibe. that being said, i had to Dunmer It Up, so i added classic dunmeri fuck-off-huge pauldrons and the boob plates (i dont know what else those would be called) of the Lady Of Morrowind Herself, almalexia. couldn't find anything on uesp that specifically said almalexia was associated with the lady constellation but. she is in my heart. also funny to go to a costume party dressed as your ex. in the company of your wife.
tamriel's greatest heroes should not be trusted in a party environment. absolutely Fucking Up the @tes-gala

[Image ID: 3 images in an unstructured comic format.
Image 1: In panel 1, Ahmarji, an ohmes khajiit woman wearing a sari, and Areia, an imperial woman wearing decorative armour, face each other at a beer pong table. Ahmarji is celebrating, saying "Yay, I won!". Areia is leaning over the table with an angry expression on her face. She says "Gods-". In panel 2, Areia flips the table, finishing the sentence "DAMN IT!" Ahmarji ducks to avoid the table and flying red solo cups with a surprised expression.
Image 2: In panel 1, Indesi, a dunmer woman wearing a dress and cloak, talks with Fastulfr, a nord man wearing a tunic, cloak, and a belt with many pouches. Indesi watches the beer pong scene with a lovestruck, satisfied expression. Fastulfr is holding a drink and looking bemused. Fasti says "That's your wife. You married that." Indesi says "Yeah I did <3". Off screen, Areia says "REMATCH. NOW!" and Ahmarji replies "I would but you broke the table in half with your head." In panel 2, Fastulfr is talking to Ahmarji. He says "You were cheating, right?". Ahmarji looks self-satisfied and replies "Oh yeah, completely. I learned telekinesis specifically for this." In the background Indesi is consoling an embarrassed Areia. Indesi: There there, babe. Areia: I lost my temper :( Indesi: It's okay it was hot.
Image 3: Panel 1 is labelled THE BEGINNING OF THE NIGHT. Ahmarji, holding a staff and wearing crisp cat-like face paint, has a hand full of desserts and is whispering secretively to Fastulfr. She says "Psst... Fasti! Can you put some of these desserts in your little bags?" Fastulfr has a hand on her shoulder in reassurrance, saying "Way ahead of you. Left pouch is savoury, right pouch is sweet. I've already got like a full meal in here." In smaller text, Ahmarji says "...I think this is the only time I've ever respected you." and Fastulfr says "What? D:"
Panel 2 is labelled THE END OF THE NIGHT. In the background, Indesi is smiling and dancing. Text with an arrow labels her: "has been dancing for 7 hours straight and is showing no signs of stopping". Next to her is Areia, standing still and looking almost painfully tired. Text with an arrow labels her: "running on empty but trying to be a supportive wife. 90% held up by the stiffness of her outfit." In the foreground is a table. Fastulfr is curled up asleep under it, using his cloak as a pillow. Text with an arrow labels him: "Has been asleep for the past two hours." Ahmarji stands at the table, her face paint smudged and messy and missing her blouse, with a black CENSORED bar over her exposed chest. She says, "Wait, didn't I used to have a staff?... And a shirt?"
