Index: Imperium 2
AKA Imperial Pick and Mix Adeptus Ministorum I am put this as plainly as possible. This might only be my opinion, but… SISTERS ARE BACK!
Part 1: Act of Faith It is changed completely! At the start of the turn choose a unit with the Act of Faith rule and roll a 2+, if successful choose one of the actions and complete it: 1. Move like it is the movement phase. 2. Shoot as if it were the movement phase. 3. Complete a Fight phase if the unit is within 1” of an enemy. 4. Return a single slain model to the unit with a single wound OR heal D3 wounds to a single living model. Now re-read this list of actions. Celestine can choose a unit within 6” of her to also complete an Act of Faith, without a dice roll. Imagifier can roll a D6 and on a 4+ can choose a unit to complete an Act of Faith. A unit can only complete ONE Act of Faith per turn, no matter how many Celestine/Imagifiers you use. And the unit MUST have the Act of Faith ability on their datasheet.
Part 2: Shield of Faith. Pretty similar to last edition: 6++ and are allowed to Deny one psychic test, but only on a single D6.
Part 3: Penitent Engines….wait! What?! These Dreadnought wannabees will become the bane of a shooting army’s existence. Picture the scene: The T’au firing line has bolstered the position in their deployment zone. Close together, but some units are not close enough to help with the assisted overwatch. The Stormsurge has deployed its anchors and has been laying fire down on the Sisters back line. The dust from the shooting phase has cleared and the Sisters enter the Charge phase. Six stomping feet kick dirt and blood from the ground. The buzz blades roar and the Penitent Engines leap over the barricade, a few pulse rifles score hits, but the damage is not enough to stop them. 12 attacks, S10, Ap-3 with 3 damage each tear through the Fire warriors. A dice is rolled. A 4+ is scored. The buzz blades screech into life again and the Penitent Engines move into the Stormsurge and they have the chance to deal 36 wounds. To put it bluntly, they can charge, fight, roll a 4+, pile in, and fight again. Oh, they can also re-roll To Hit on the turn they charge.
Part 4: Saint Celestine, The Living Saint. Walk into a fight, hack down the elites, the characters and light tanks. Adds 1 to any Shield of Faith INV save for Sisters. Ministorum and Astra Militarum then get a 6+ INV. Bonus automatic Act of Faith for self or a friendly unit within 6”. When she dies, she can return on full wounds on a 2+, the first time she dies only! At the start of each turn you can return one of her Geminae (which are now 50pts each) from the dead. Ardenant Blade a S7 Ap-3 Damage 2 in combat and a Heavy Flamer in shooting phase. The incredible being from 7th has been given a buff for this edition and she might be the must have for many sister armies.
Part 5: Conclusion. Mechanised in transports, speedy Seraphim, Celestine might be more than a simple saint and closer to God status, the combinations of the Ministorum are nearly limitless. Even using them as allies for other Imperium is still great. Adepta Sororitas have really come into their own for 8th and I think we see them coming out a lot more often this edition.
