Displaying their anger and resentment against "colonising" e-commerce market and Retail Trade of India, large number of traders have staged a day long hunger strike in several parts of the country under the aegis of the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT).
The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has warned MNCs and domestic corporate companies to immediately stop the unfair business practices otherwise they will be forced to issue a dictat to traders to boycott dealing in products of such MNCs and corporate retailers.
Media reports which claimed that the Indian government wants e-commerce players to make offline trade a part of their growth seems to be proving wrong as the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has rejected idea and said that there is no question of joining hands with any business entity who is not following the policy of the Government and law of the land.
Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has demanded shutting down of homegrown e-commerce platform Flipkart, alleging that the company has caused massive losses to government revenue.
