Good news!
The latest census of Indian Wild Asses (Equus hemionus khur), taken in March 2020, shows continued population growth. Though there were a mere 362 remaining in 1960, conservation efforts have helped bring them back from the brink. There are now approximately 6,082, located in the Little Rann Of Kutch, Gujarat, India.
