Week one: Indian Treasures

Name of photographer: “Group show”

A common thread: The common thread that I found throughout the photographs was the distinction between upper class and lower class populations. This is not limited to the emotions that were expressed in the photographs along with the cultural pride. 

What do the photos have in common/differences: The main difference that was easy to pick up on was the class distinctions, whether it was a snapshot of people living in gutters to the streets or others dazzled in jewellery with expensive clothing. it was also very interesting to see that majority of the black and white photos displayed the poor and the photos with colour depicted wealth and class.
