If you haven’t been to Ellora Caves, go now! Over tourism is killing the place. Both Ajanta and Ellora have captivated me since childhood. The mysteriously cut Kailasa temple and the Buddhist caves that follow are both architecturally and aesthetically superior to most cave temples in India. I had a wonderful time hiking up there a few years back. My guide sang out an ancient tune when we were in this cave to demonstrate the sharp acoustics that deck this hall. It gave me goosebumps!
