I'll leave it so someone else to tell us which episode this is from (the GIFs are from Goomba Shoe). If you also want to update us on the status of Game Center CX 2's fan translation, feel free to chime in :o)

Shit just got real with Retro Game Challenge 2
Here's something wonderful that popped up in the comments of our Retro Game Challenge post earlier today -- Nina Matsumoto (a.k.a. Space Cowboy, a.k.a. Zari-Gani) has joined the fan translation team for Game Center CX 2/Retro Game Challenge 2!
Nearly two years have passed since efforts to patch this revered DS sequel started, but it's faced challenges due to the lack of translators willing to see this project through. That's why we're so excited about this news -- Game Center CX fans will likely recognize Nina's name from her involvement with the official Retro Game Master DVD set's translation, the Game Center CX fansubs released through Something Awful, and the artwork featured on the Game Center CX in USA box!
The team is still looking for translators and experienced ROM hackers to help with the project, so drop them a line and help them make this happen please!

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy hits iPhone, iPad today
No big surprise here, the beloved 3DS rhythm game is out for iOS devices today (New Zealand shop, U.S. link incoming). Also unsurprising: in-app purchases are insane in the membrane, crazy insane, got no brain.
The app is free to download with two songs ("One Winged Angel" and "Zanarkand"), but then you'll spend $0.99 on each song, $2.99 on each song bundle for the numbered Final Fantasy games, and $1.99 on each character. Buying all of the content will set you back around $90. Oh, and this mobile edition lacks the EMS feature that lets you play extended versions for a number of songs.
Theatrhythm Final Fantasy for 3DS is currently $30 at Amazon (includes around 80 songs, more available as DLC).
New screens of the Retro Game Challenge 2 translation. This looks so professional! The edited English UI is great, the Triotos logo is great, everything looks really good. The idea that this is something people are doing for free, in their spare time, out of passion kind of blows my mind.
You guys are the best.

Retro Game Challenge 2 translation update!
Can you believe this is our 5000th post on this goofy site? I was worried we wouldn't find a news post befitting this milestone, but news about the fan translation for Game Center CX 2 / Retro Game Challenge 2, one of our most anticipated tiny cartridges ever, is perfect for the occasion!
We haven't heard much about the translation team's efforts since its site launched in February, but they've now revamped the project page to make it easier to relay updates. It's still light on content, but you can see a few new English screenshots from there. Make sure to click the sprites at the bottom, too, for some nice character art.
Ryuza, who maintains the site, tells us that we'll likely get some new screenshots soon to show off the progress made from project lead Xvirus and his team. He adds, "From what I've seen, the translators have a lot of the text from the conversations with Arino translated, so things are going pretty well." I'm just thrilled this isn't dead!

The teaser site for Square Enix's bizarre 3DS rhythm-game spinoff Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy reveals the developer of the project as Indies Zero, not Jupiter as was rumored.
While a new Final Fantasy-related game by the team behind The World Ends With You would serve to drive many fans' current bemusement with the game into burning desire, the attachment of Indies Zero to the project does a lot more to attract me (and, I'm sure, Eric) as Indies Zero is responsible for the two Retro Game Challenge games (and, uh, Personal Trainer: Cooking and the recent DualPenSports).
The site also features a nice remix of the classic Final Fantasy theme, and the unbelievably adorable logo seen above. Now Square Enix just has to do something about the name, and I'll be able to declare my interest in the rhythm-based RPG without shame!
