For this Indigenous Peoples Day, I'd like to honor my great-great grandmother. She was an indigenous Salvadoran woman who, at the age of thirteen, married a much older Spanish man (something I have questionable feelings about on his side, but this is about her, not him). The two of them raised about ten kids, both their own and her sister's children, including my great-grandfather. I never met her, but I hear she was quite a lively, witchy lady who never wore shoes.
