Indigo Zap: So, um, who’s going to stop Lil Twilight from opening portals to other dimensions and causing a rampage?

Sunny Flare: Not me,dearie. I need to…catch up…on…. some…sleep…(snores).

Indigo Zap: (sigh) I guess it’s just us, Lemon, Sugarcoat.

Lemon Zest: YEAH! WE’RE GONNA ROCK THIS BABY TO SLEEP!!!!

Sugarcoat: I’m going to regret this.

Little shadowbolts headcanon cause the mlp phase ain't going away.

I know the shadowbolts are supposed to be "dark parallels" to the Humane 6, and some work better in this role than others, but I personally love the idea that none of their equestria counterparts would be the same race as their Mane 6 counterpart.

My personal headcanon for what each one is-

Sugarcoat- Pegasus. Got the idea from a fanfic but I also think it kinda fits her personality. She's above the petty bullshit and calls it like she sees it.

Indigo zap- unicorn. We never hear about unicorn athletes to my knowledge, the athletic ones are always either Pegasi or earth ponies. It's cool to think about how a unicorn athlete would work.

Sunny flare- earth pony. It's mostly the lack of screentime, but she comes off as the most grounded of the shadowbolts, the easily approachable one.

Lemon zest- Pegasus. Girl goes with the flow in almost everything, like leaf being carried away in the wind. Also, much like a bird, she is LOUD.

Sour Sweet- earth pony, honestly this one is just cause she reminds me of that one bitchy earth pony in G5. Maybe they're related, who knows!
