It feels really weird to not be doing NaNoWriMo. I mean, I really, really don't have time for it (maybe), but it feels weird. Like I'm forgetting something. Or ignoring an old friend.
:/
I went to a write-in at a local college tonight. It sort of... made me feel old? Only one other non-student showed up, and the students looked like little babies. I’m not that much older, so it was a weird sensation. I didn’t get a ton of writing done, but it left me feeling ready to go. I mean blast off, let’s write thousands of words go. So I picked up coffee on the way home and then proceeded to waste two hours on the internet...
Apparently, it wasn’t a focused energy. I’m going to go try to channel it into actual words now anyway.

Camp NaNo Step 1: Empty camp inbox of unread messages dating back to 2012
I need to get in the habit of carrying a notebook with me 24/7 because words are starting to come back to me but they are very fleeting. I can think out words, sentences, paragraphs, but then next second they’re gone. And trying to recreate them never seems to carry the same emotional impact. I need to accept being that crazy person who can’t put down their pen because that is the only way I’m ever going to manage to capture any of this.
Writing outside of November. A miracle!
Took my remaining NaNo word count and divided it by how many days are left to write. 2,400 per day will get me across the finish line. I’m still in this.
