This first image was me in 1978 in Kalimantan Timur (East Borneo Province), Indonesia. I am a bit of a ways outside of the city of Balikpapan where patches of jungle existed. I had this motorcycle the whole time I was in Kalimantan Timur and used it both on and off road. I really enjoyed those rides and challenged my small motorcycle to work hard. Ahh to be 21 again! The second image is me and my friend and fellow teacher posing with my motorcycle. It rained heavily a bit before I tried to ride on a dirt road. I got hopelessly stuck in super sticky mud. The dirt roads into the rainforest were mostly created by loggers (boo hiss) and the mud created during monsoons would accumulate with each rotation or two of the wheel; the worst mud I have ever experienced.
