Staff Pick of the Week
We received a number of wonderful end-of-the-year cards from artists, printers, book artists, designers, letterpress printers, and fine press publishers. The letterpress-printed card we received from Trish and Wilber “Chip” Schilling of Indulgence Press in Minneapolis really captures the overall sentiment of many of the cards sent to us in such a simple, engaging, and effective way. So much so, that we plan to catalog this card for our collection as a printed artifact of the times. The type is a slab-style typeface that we haven’t been able to identify,* but suits the content very well.

* After posting this, thanks to the sleuthing of printmaker and book artist Melissa Wagner-Lawler, we have since learned that the typeface is Cholla Slab OT designed by Swiss-American designer Sibylle Hagmann for Emigre digital type foundry.
