much like a girl again, she sat expectantly in place among flora, legs crossed and hands in her lap. the moment spent in the sunny garden felt like a revisited 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐲; they had been here before, many times, sometimes even when a mentor would've been expecting their attendance with a displeased curl on her lip, knowing the two had found something more important to do.
padmé's attention, for the most part, had been in the surrounding flowers then. she'd tried to memorize their names whilst chatting with duja, their giggles and gossip intertwining and making a melody that'd forever remain as a sound, symbolism of youth in the senator's mind. she loved to hear the laughter of the other half of her soul, to see the beautiful creature who could've moved the mountains by simply existing. she belonged here, both of them did, among the nature's little miracles, in naboo's gentle embrace. so yes, where her attention had once been in delicate stems and colorful petals, it now was directed at the fair lady in front of her. it truly was a 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 like no other to have someone like this in her life, the only one who'd seen the ugliest parts of the former child queen. the feeling of gratitude was almost overwhelming as it wildly spun around her heart; how could she be sure she wasn't dreaming now ? oh, how the fear of waking up in an empty bed begun to haunt on her !
a smile found a home on padmé's cherry lips, gaze following as duja reached to place one of the wildflowers in her hair. fondness touched her tongue as she spoke. ❝ tell me you're really here ❞, she asked, making it apparent how unreal it felt to 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 share a moment of rest together, ❝ tell me you'll stay with me forever. ❞
