Truth: My God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus. -Philippians 4:19
This to me, always seems to come in terms of friends. I feel like I need them for their insight and direct response. I sometimes feel that without my friends, I would be nothing. But that is totally false thinking. Without God I would be nothing.
88% of teen girls said that God is not enough to satisfy. Most said that because they turned to friends for guidance instead of God.
Think about Philippians 4:19. I would say that verse is pretty darn clear. Hard to miss anything. "My God will meet all your needs..." God will supply everything.
At Camp Li-Lo-Li we had Psalm 63 in our morning devotion book. David was out in the wilderness and yet he says "O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water." No water. Get that. No water and yet he thirsts for God. He doesn't need water, he needs God. That's where I really get caught up.
I get caught up in feeling the need for my friends more than my God, while David longs for God more than water? Water is necessary for life, yet David wants God instead. That's the kind of view I want for my life. I should need God like I need water to live. I should need God, more than anything else.
Truth: Whom have I in heaven b ut you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you. -Psalm 73:25
