Correct me if I'm wrong here (I didn't look it up, but this made sense to me).

The joke goes "Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to the other side!".  As in "the other side". As in it had a death wish. Because it would get run over. And die. I killed the joke. It's deader than that chicken now.

Perhaps, but someone had to tell you what feminism was - Whether it was Margaret Cavendish, Frances Willard or Emma Watosn; the Huffington Post or Tumblr - we weren't just born knowing these things, the information had to be put into words before we could spread with our mouths.

If today's common person identifies with Beyonce more than Jane Austen and prefers youtube clips of hollywood stars' explanation over siting down with Epître au Dieu d'Amour, i don't think that's necessarily lazy, that's just moving into modern times. 

Having knowledge is great, but if we don't actively share it, it's useless. That's how education happens. We can't expect people to inspire themselves.

I think a large part of it is intelligence. Honestly, I can completely fall for someone just by reading something they've written because I think it's so brilliant. It's happened before. It's happening now. My current crush actually. Never met her. Read her work. Completely enamored with her. Add on that she is a professor at a university.

Can anyone else imagine Lauren Lewis as the geek who isn't sure if she is feeling adoration or love for her professors? I can see her totally geeking out over a professor's brilliance and crushing on them. 

The power dynamic is sexy, but illogical. I would never get with a professor as long as they are still my professor. I think it's stupid idea. It's a situation where the student always loses. 1) You want to leave the relationship? They may take it out on your grade. 2) Something goes wrong in the relationship and it ends badly? They may take it out on your grade.

Not worth the risk.

right? it's hard to blame people for that, but at the same time, it's disgusting and depressing
