Okay but image this:
Crowley and Aziraphale go to an Elvis concert together, Aziraphale isn't a big fan of this kind of music but Crowley said that if he'd come with him to this show then next time they can go to that opera Aziraphale really wanted to see.
The show starts and Aziraphale doesn't really pay attention to the songs, though he can see that Crowley is having fun.
But then, "Can't Help Falling In Love" starts, and Aziraphale can't stop himself from looking at Crowley, thinking that if Crowley feels the same, then he'll look at him back.
But Crowley won't look at Aziraphle, not because he doesn't feel the same, but because he knows that if he look at Aziraphale right now, all of his emotions would spill out and he would scare Aziraphale, because Crowley doesn't believe that Aziraphale feels the same way.
When they go back to London, Crowley asks Aziraphale if he enjoyed tonight. Aziraphale still says this isn't his kind of music, which is true, but he knows he'll listen to that music every second of his eternal life if that means he gets to be with Crowley.
Crowley looks at him and thinks, maybe Aziraphale is right, maybe we are too different, but he knows that nothing will ever change the way he feels about him.
They both go to their own homes that night, but none of them sleeps, they just stare at the ceiling and wonder, what if tonight went differently?
