Ontario Liberals Continue Healthcare Ineptness
With just a little more seasoning Liberal MPP (Member of Provincial Parliament for my American readers) Deb Matthews should be ready to replace another Liberal and soon-to-be penitentiary resident, Mayor Joe Fontana of London, Ontario. Just about the time that Mayor Joe will exchange pinstripes for prison-stripes, Deb Matthews and Ontario Liberals may be voted out of office. Sure her golden parachute will open at that time and she’ll receive an outrageous and undeserved pension, but she has a boatload of potential in carrying the Liberal torch of ineptness and corruption in her hometown of London.
As the Liberal cabinet member who oversees the Ministry of Health portfolio for Ontario, the Honourable Deb Matthews continues as the Duk Koo Kim to the Boom Boom Mancini of ethical governmental leadership. There is no shortage of scandal with this government over the past nine years; why even Chicago politicians continue to be amazed as they frequent Queen’s Park for seminars on how to be re-elected while stealing millions of dollars. There is even a rumor that a shrine has been erected to Dalton McGuinty in the backrooms of Chicago City Hall.
The latest Deb Matthews briefing is to express her shock (or as the press calls it, her usual response) to the watered-down chemo drugs that were used in some Ontario hospitals for over a year. She has even gone so far as to appoint an independent third-party to investigate and review procedures, most likely so the recommendations can be ignored (a la The Drummond Report).
With the ORNGE Air Ambulance Scandal, the eHealth Scandal and now chemo that is on par with Peter Popoff’s Snake Oil, Deb Matthews may have disappointed one union too many come election time. Not to worry though, no doubt an endorsement from Joe in Cell-block C will arrive for the next London Mayoral Election
