"We have been misled into thinking that the desire for wholeness is finding fulfillment in the union of two lovers, rather than in the realization of one’s whole self. . . One may long for love and for a love relationship, but the love he or she actually needs is within. One is lonely, essentially, because he or she is frustrating the one Source of Love within and is hopelessly looking for love from others. But without the acceptance of love within, the person is unable to accept love from others, even if it is sincerely preferred.
