When it gets hard
Today has been such a rough day with Kaeson our 3 month old. He has severe allergies to cow protein,soy protein, eggs and legumes and I'm starting to think maybe something else. His reflux from it is so bad that we have turned to meds to try to help him. I have sat here today holding a screaming baby that's only comfort is nursing...while simultaneously cleaning up puke and trying to hold on as he arched his back trying to breathe...as he lays there gasping while I'm trying to suck his nose out because congestion is a symptom too and how hard it is because his nostrils are swollen...when your wracking your brain trying to figure out where a slip might be...and think maybe he is one of the few that react to soy oil and soy lethicin which is typically considered safe but some do react to it...and then you kick yourself for the toast you had and the "butter" that contains it...all while telling yourself your doing the very best you can and its not truly your fault if you didn't know..but mom guilt is real. It will keep you up at night. It will make you feel like a failure...but your not. You are a warrior and you will pick your battle axe up and fight the war better tomorrow...cause that is what we do.
