Story: Eve is the Infernal Venus and the demonic mother of humanity. There is a piece of Eve in all of us, which is why she’s such a powerful force to work with. Eve was the first to bravely bite into an apple from the Tree of Knowledge. The Lovers features Eve standing alongside Adam, looking up to the higher power. The Lovers illustration represents Eve listening to her higher sense of knowledge and understanding rather than simply taking orders from Powers That Be/authority. It was her hunger for knowledge that ultimately compelled her to defy Yahweh’s orders and eat the so-called “forbidden fruit.” After eating from the Tree of Knowledge, Eve became demonic in her intelligence and power when she was cast out of the Garden of Eden. You can see her in The Devil tarot card, standing alongside Adam once again, but now, she has horns. These horns represent Eve becoming more empowered, liberated, enlightened, and sovereign through the transformative powers of the serpent’s knowledge. That serpent is Satan and/or Lucifer, depending on how you perceive Satan and Lucifer and interpret that myth. Eve reminds us that we are empowered and transformed by the powers of Satan and the demons.
