Sometimes I just want to take a moment to appreciate some of the things I don't talk about a lot. Mostly just for my own enjoyment but these four games I actually enjoy so much and wish I dedicated more of my time to like fully nerding out about them.
I know AC Syndicate gets a bit of smack bc of the game play and I agree it's not the best, I'm currently finishing it up after finishing Jedi Survivor and it's a stark difference. It's no Black Flag but I really like Jacob and Evie and Henry. And the whole Rooks subplot I actually really enjoy. Jacob is my favorite even with his attitude. I would love to get into more of the storyline but whenever I start an AC game it takes me so long because I take like huge breaks. I wish there was more content for this game like as a fandom, I'm sure there is I just need to dig.
The campaign of Battlefront two was the first real video game I completed, if I'm remembering correctly, I've finished it like 3 more times since. I love Iden and Del, they may be like top 3 star wars ships for me. I have read the book but I was like in 5th grade or 6th and am extremely dyslexic and don't remember much of it. I actually think the writing cooks and I don't think you could convince me otherwise. What I would give for them to be recognized in other media in Star Wars (if they have and I've missed it lmk). Even better if they got a whole movie show or mini series, I would sob if it happened, it never will. But I wanna high-key play it again. But that one sequence when you're escaping Endor and the AT-AT mission OH MY GOD pissed me off as a kid. But other than that God I love this game.
Bloodborne is literally my favorite video game. Have I beaten it no. But that's not important. We don't have to talk about it. I actually love the setting, the story, and the bosses. I have watched so many playthroughs and lore interpretations (T B Skyen is my favorite). But oh my lord I love this game. I wish I was as into the other from soft games but this one is just peek for me. I want some many of the outfits too, like that choir garb is calling my name. I love Eileen so much. Alfred stresses me out, as he should that dudes not stable. And the doll and Lady Maria. Anyway I'm currently working on it. No where close to being done, I swear it takes year off my life playing but whatever. I beat Father Gascoigne literally by the skin of my teeth idk how I finessed it.
Okay Titanfall 2. What to say about Titanfall 2. I love it. You can tell there is a pattern here. The scenery IS FIRE. Captain Lastimosa will never not make me cry, gotta love a father coded figure. BT-7274 I love him. Jake Cooper, love him. I don't remember much of this game, I've completed it twice, and am currently like a 3rd of the way through. but like if I see anything about this game I literally just get so excited. It holds a special place in my heart.
Anyway a really long post for no reason at all but these are my favorite things and I want to appreciate them. Ment to talk about books and movies too but this got long lol.

@swtorpadawan out there making me remember a tragically one-off character from the 2017 Inferno Squad book. Damn that was eight years ago.
Anyway, the character was a fourth member of the Battlefront II game's Inferno Squad named Seyn Marana.
Seyn was absolutely the breakout star of the book and by far the most compelling and interesting character of the cast. She is the youngest member of Inferno Squad and has an eidetic memory. While that serves her well in intelligence work it also weighs heavily on her because she can never forget anything. Any and all traumatic things that she experiences she is constantly reliving in exact excruciating detail. And that haunts her and alienates her from her other Inferno Squad teammates.
Being so young, only 20 during the book, she falls in love rather quickly, not having that much world experience with romance. And after that love dies (she actually was the one that killed him, it was a whole thing), she suffers tremendously because she can't forget anything and constantly remembers all of the moments she spent with him, the hopes that they had for the future and the moment that she chose to kill him for the mission.
She was such a wonderfully tragic and interesting character and it is beyond a shame that she was a one-off for the prequel book of the Battlefront II game.
He was quiet for a moment, then said, "We're far enough away that I'm not too worried about pursuit. So here are some answers. We are a group of individuals who hate the Empire and all it stands for. And we're willing to do whatever it takes to bring it down." He glanced at her. "We thought you might want to help us do that."
"You're with the Rebel Alliance?"
He made a face, as if he'd just bitten into something extremely sour. "Hell no. Until they got their nerve up and stole those plans from Scarif, I'd have said the Alliance would rather meet with the Emperor for tea and politely ask him to consider surrendering, if it wouldn't bother him too terribly much."
Despite the situation, Iden smiled. That was precisely the impression she'd gotten of the Alliance. "Then -- who are you? Or don't you want me to know?"
Oh, he wanted her to know, all right. He was arrogant, and he wanted to brag. If all of them were like Azen, this mission was going to be over before it had barely begun.
"We," he said, giving the words weight, "are Saw Gerrera's partisans."

I recently reread Star Wars: Battlefront II: Inferno Squad, and wanted to share some of my thoughts. I remember enjoying it the first time around when it first came out, but I enjoyed it so much more now.
Imperial Tech
just for the record, I have woken up from a dream where Tech was dressed up in the Armor of the Empire’s Inferno Squad. The armor was black and red. Tech’s Inferno Squad helmet came with a red visor. He commanded a large number of Natborn troopers alongside clones. Regardless of what conditioning he went through, he still cares for his brothers and Omega. This further has shown and proven to me that it is the basis of my newest AU Fic. Star Wars: Imperial Shadow! With all his brilliant exceptional mind, Tech will play the long game with the Empire just so he can make it vulnerable from the inside as long as he manages to act like a stone cold Imperial Loyalist!
