inosuke has zero concept of love; absolutely none. being raised by boars may have blessed him with an array of unique skills and an awareness he shares with few others, but it did little for his knowledge of more human behaviours and ideas, one such subject being love. certainly he’s capable of compassion and empathy ( to a degree ), and he’s definitely capable of love— however he is a stranger to his own feelings, and wouldn’t know whether or not that is indeed what he’s experiencing. he doesn’t know what love is, let alone what that feels like to him, or rather, he couldn’t name it. he finds that interpreting his own feelings is a chore and instead tends to ignore it.
despite his severe naiveté and inexperience with emotions beyond rage and excitement, inosuke shows his affections in small and gentle ways, contrasting his usual demeanor. the softest brush of his hand against theirs, a light touch of their hair and letting it slip through his fingers, tapping his forehead against theirs— he’ll say it in many ways without words, or without even knowing what it means. sometimes it manifests in more forceful ways, such as an unyielding and fierce desire to protect them, and a willingness to die for the sake of their safety. his actions tend to speak louder on some rare occasions.
