Infinite Foundation (Osaki Akira, 2018)
A shy girl with a quiet passion for sewing gets brought in to design costumes for a performance of Cinderella. The lead actress gets an audition for a major film role, falling on the same day as the play. For some reason her friends are hurt by this rather than supportive and stand in the way of her achieving her dreams. The sewing girl’s caught in the middle of this. At least it inspires sewing girl to define and pursue her own dreams. There’s also a guardian angel who plays the ukulele. Overwrought, but maybe i’m over the age this is intended for. Also maybe this movie’s the result of an acting troupe themselves trying to put on a show. It did feel like a series of acting exercises.
