I'm so sick of this. Of all of this. I can't wait for summer. I'll be in Nashville, on my own, away from all this shit.
You couldn't be bothered to stop getting drunk with your friends for one night to come to the most important recital I've ever played in. But when you and your brother do a little two-minute duet for a talent show, I'm expected to drop everything to "help you prepare"? This is an exact representation of our friendship. I am ALWAYS, without fail, there to support you in whatever you are doing and whatever you need. But when the tables are turned, you're never interested or care enough to be there for me when I need support. Some "best friend."
What an incredible night. I was supposed to work all night, but for some reason I felt like I needed to get my shift covered and go to worship. So I did just that. My best friend, her brother and I went together. Little did I know that the guy I've been interested in lately would be there. We finally got the chance to talk outside of Twitter and Instagram, and it was absolutely wonderful. We have so much in common and I think this will turn into at the very least a great friendship. The message that Dr. B preached tonight absolutely wrecked me, in the best way possible, of course. After the service, I drove out to my stargazing spot to just reflect on the message and how mighty and wonderful our God is. He's been drawing me towards Himself even before I knew Him. I spent a good hour and a half just sitting in my car, listening to worship music, and praying. I've been really preoccupied lately with improving myself to make people (specifically men) like me more. God just smacked me with love and contentment with who I am and who He created me to be. I headed home feeling loved and hopeful for my future, two things I hadn't felt in a long time. There's this song by The Civil Wars called "To Whom It May Concern," which is basically a love letter to your future spouse. Usually when I listen to it, I get upset and feel hopeless because I feel like I'll never have those things and I'll just be alone with my cat and blog forever. But tonight, the Lord gave my heart rest and gave me hope for a beautiful life filled with love for a wonderful, Godly man, and our mutual love and pursuit of Jesus. As the song was ending, I noticed a figure walking on the sidewalk that was unusually tall. It happened to be the guy from worship earlier (the one I'm slightly interested in). I pulled over and we had another wonderful conversation before parting ways for the evening. I'm not sure if that was God telling me to pursue this guy, but it doesn't matter. If it's meant to happen, it will happen. I don't need to worry about little things like whether or not I'm going to eventually date some guy. God will make it all work for His great plan for my life. I will trust Him to lead me wherever and to whomever I need to be. And I'm finally content with that. "Dear whoever you might be, I'm still waiting patiently."
My friend is sitting in my room arguing with her boyfriend over the phone and I'm just sitting here blogging with my cat in my lap. Perfect representation of our lives.

Look, I'm really not trying to be insulting. I'm just saying it'd be way easier to just accept our differences and coexist peacefully. I obviously don't know much about Jewish culture, but that doesn't mean I hate it or am trying to stamp it out. I am sorry you're upset, but I was trying to convey that I'm more sorry for being culturally appropriative. It was unintentional due to ignorance, but still very wrong and I truly apologize.
I am glad that you realize you were mistaken and why. Truly, I am.
You still don't have the right to tell us not to be upset about it, which is the part that got me really riled up.
It was never my intention to be culturally appropriative. I understand your frustration completely. I'm Armenian and Turkey still doesn't recognize the slaughter of 1.5 million of our people nearly 100 years ago as a genocide. However, it was not me directly who tried to suppress your culture. Many people, myself included, view Hebrew as the holy language. It is the original language of the bible. You and I both worship the same God. Romans 10:12 - "For there is no difference between Jew and Gen
Ok.
One, we do not worship the same god. You worship a god that is in three parts, one of them being Jesus. We do not. We believe in unified G-d that is ONE, not three. And besides, what god we do or do not worship has literally nothing to do with all this.
Two, having common roots does not entitle you to our language, nor other aspects of our culture, that your faith actively worked for millenia to stamp out. More than that, Christianity is still privileged over other religions, including Judaism, today, as a direct result of that kind of behaviour, which allows people to think they have the right to access and pick over our culture for the fun, shiny bits, when they DON’T. You didn’t hold he gun to our heads, but you benefit from others having done so, and your tattoo is proof of that.
I understand your intentions were not malicious. But intention isn’t magic, and we do have the right to be upset when people are appropriative, even if they didn’t realize it. I’m actually more angry at your “sorry you were upset, don’t be mean” than I was about your tattoo.
