every so often i check if infinitely you has been updated and i want to die when it hasnt 😫 (i totally understand why i just want you to know that the interest is there for it if you want to write more for it) it is literally one of my favorite things ive ever read

now, lets talk infinitely you bc i get anywhere from 1-10 asks a month about it (not complaining! i love them except for the ones that kinda border on being mean but that's not what this is about).

Infinitely You is most definitely on an indefinite hiatus. I started that fic when I was in an awful place and wrote it for the sake of pure self-indulgence. Because of that, it really quickly became a piece that I completely came to associate with an awful period of my life---and then, ultimately, a big source of stress all on its own after my old laptop fucking nerfed the rewrite.

SO, as of rn, Infinitely You is something I personally don't know how to approach, which i hate because it was actually the first thing i wrote after taking a several years break from fanfic writing. i'm definitely not saying i'll never try tackling it again, but just that rn it kind of exists in an open grave of unfinished works lmao

obviously not all of this was a response just to you anon, so i hope this doesn't come off like weird or something! just using your ask as a jumping off point rather than individually answering all the asks about Infinitely You's fate. :) I appreciate all of your love and kind words more than you can ever imagine, especially because i'm honestly not the proudest of infinitely you as is :)

I love that I have such an influx of infinitely you asks in the past few days lmao. idk, makes me happy that people think about that story still because it has a special place in my heart

anyways--infinitely you is currently on an indefinite hiatus. I just touched on it briefly in my last post, but I'm undecided on what to do with needing to potentially rewrite it again since losing what I had already written :/ so, at the current moment, the entire future of that series is just kind of up in the air while I wrestle with my own thoughts

okay, so I'm actually 100% open to suggestions on this. Infinitely You is a story where, in my mind, I 100% know the course it's going to take. almost every little twist and turn is perfectly mapped out---but I have one issue with it that is recurring EVERY time I've tried to sit down and rewrite the parts I lost:

I don't like it as a reader insert anymore.

I don't know what it is, but I've found it literally impossible to write it as a reader insert at this point. any time I sit down and think on it, I keep thinking of all the ways doing it as an OC fic would add to the remaining plot and also patch up existing holes in the original and the un-finished rewrite.

So, I guess what I'm trying to decide is: if I rewrite it, will anyone even read it if it becomes an OC fic AND if I don't rewrite it, do I just post what the ending was gonna be lmao

anyways, this was long and unfortunately I think the current answer is--I have absolutely no clue and am looking for advice lmao

I can't describe to you how much I love Ifinitely You, I've been reading fanfic for around 10 years now and nothing has stuck with me more. I read the previous version all the way up to your latest release and was so happy when you decided to start writing it again. You're incredible and I'm so excited to read more! to answer your questions, as of right now i am planning for Infinitely You to be 14 chapters total! however, i am still in the process of finishing up the last few and editing what i already have, so that could always end up being altered slightly! :) as for my plans on releasing them, i’m currently posting a chapter every other week on monday (so the next chapter is already scheduled to be posted April 15th at midnight)!

I’d like to talk about infinitely you and everything I love about it but I would be sitting here typing forever

I’m neurodivergent so I often find things to hyperfixate or obsess about, Infinitely you was something that was on my mind for months, I could not for the life of me get it out of my head especially when I was listening to music.

I’d like to thank you for giving me something to distract me from my constantly running brain, I really mean it when I say you’re writing has helped me a lot <3
