Drift’s puppycrush on Pearl is basically canon so why not play into it. Pearl the cool, competent huntress mentoring and supporting the bright-eyed detective Drift. They’re both fiercely loyal and they share a selfless disposition.

I feel like they’re both really grounded people who care deeply about justice and seek to help others, even at their own expense. They’d be a quiet sort of love, and a stable one. I think Drift looks up to Pearl for Bravery and Pearl looks up to Drift for her ingeniuity in case-cracking. They’d hunt down hidden packs of werewolves so fast, your honor

I mean, we all agree there was SOMETHING going on between them around the third quarter of the series, right? Drift totally had a puppy crush on Pearl, at least. (And TBH who can blame her, Pearl is cool and competent and SUPER pretty.)

Really sweet moment when Pearl trained Drift by fighting bats. And there’s a fun contrast between her submitting to the coven instantly, and trying to bring in Pearl who’s defiantly loyal to Oakhurst until the end. Person who’s scared all the time x her ideal self who stands against her and does what she couldn’t.

@/thegremlininyourcloset did a PERFECT JOB OF REPRESENTING HOW I FEEL ABOUT THEM. THIS. THIS. DO I NEED TO ELABORATE.

their dynamic, ESPECIALLY in like episodes 1-5, was INSANE. Apo is a diehard skeptic, yet she isn’t as actively cruel to Avid as the others. She tells Scott not to torment him. Apo physically puts themself in between Avid and Cleo when she attacks him during the house judging contest. They run off to look for Avid when he disappears from the group, and tells him that he can believe in vampires, just not to be so loud about it. Apo attempts to look for Avid before getting turned, wanting his knowledge of vampires. Avid (and Drift) are literally seconds too late when she actually does get turned. Apo tries to get Avid to spill the story of how he became a vampire but absolutely yelling “I CARE for you, Avid!” He wonders why she’s so sad during her 6 second evil arc. She’s the one to stake him the first time around, and she’s so quietly guilty about it, originally worried she killed him for good.

Avid ran off alone and Apo IMMEDIATELY went after him and spent so long looking for him. Called him an idiot immediately upon catching up and told him to remember he was a person who could be in danger too. They consistently expressed care, they told each other to be careful and offered help whenever they could - occasionally in ways that WILDLY pissed each other off but hey what else could you want in a ship.

This could have been such a good ship!!! It felt like they were building up to it in the first half of the series and then it just kinda disappeared… they had something so good in the first half! Kind of similar to Legs x Avid it’s the hyper & clingy x annoyed (lovingly) ship but slightly less so. I feel like everyone forgets Apo going off by herself to look for Avid when he got separated, and then lecturing him about it and saying she cares for him. If they didn’t end up on opposing sides they would have been such a good duo.

TBH I just like the ship name. Hemophobia is a great ship name.

PLAGUEDOCTOR

THEY BEEN THROWING BRICKS AT US AND I NEED MORE BRICKS!! Cleo's relationship (platonic) with the doc is a special. It what help Cleo not to become well NOT SUICIDAL!! Ive seen some of their dynamic but I mostly with Cleo being a side character! I NEED MORE OF CLEO AND LEGUNDO!!! With them supporting eachother though hard times With Cleo helping doc getting thought his PTSD and tell him to stop being stubborn and stupid xD And doc to help Cleo self-worth and image reminding her that she worth the time and effort!

Could they fix each other? …Not by themselves, no. But they DO get each other in a way the rest of the cast doesn’t really get them, thanks to the Massive Kill Counts They Feel Incredibly Guilty About. Late nights from nightmares turn to kissing maybe?

THERE'S ONLY LIKE THREE WORKS OF THEM ON AO3 AND IT'S FRANKLY CRIMINAL. genuinely cleogundo has so much going for it. the way their characters parallel each other and grew from knowing each other, just the general way they gradually end up respecting each other, cleo literally writes doc letters postmortem for heaven's sake. this is the real doomed yaoi. or well doomed M/NB, i don't know what you'd call that

Those two were the only sane people in oakhurst. Also the most powerful, being the mayor and the only doctor in town. The stress of managing a town in crisis has got to have brought them together

the voices of reason, the calm parents of the town, trauma sharing and trauma bonding, they can love each other in a way the others couldnt

only just barely a rarepair inasmuch as that it is not the most popular ship for either of its participants (that's not true, it is a rarepair, but it shouldn't have to be). each other's most important people. deep-seated trust. both attempting-- and struggling-- to move on from the atrocities of their pasts.

THESE GUYS!!!!!!!! RAHHHH‼️‼️ theyre both trying SO hard to amend for their mistakes and help each other. legs is one of the only people cleo trusted to know they were a vampire initially…. theyre both trying to improve the world & their outlook on it. they try to support each other in the little ways. checking in. simply understanding and listening. just helping and trying to keep each other sane. they make me explode.

genuinely im obsessed with their dynamic. everything they have going on is so interesting. their bi4bi swag gives me joy. go my cleogundo.

So so so so suicidal. Both were forced to commit unspeakable horrors, both believe they don't deserve good things, both SO tired… Both with a Person they followed to their end….. Not to mention Cleo being the one legs trusted enough to both ask to turn him and kill him in the end
