"Know that I set aside pride when asking but it is your skill that I require. But this meeting is to be kept in silence. I was not to seek your aid but the shadows that creep can not be contained by force of will alone. …Magic is required."
"What shadows do you hide from, elf? I am familiar with many."

Maliketh was caught off guard and a fit of fury rushed through him but then he remembered just how poorly Loki had responded to such an action so the Dark Elf stood tall and acted as if it were nothing as he simply waved the spell away.
The Elf was unsettled by this course of action. He rested his hand on a hilt of a blade ready to lash out. However the magic burned him as it reached inside. Its cold like threatening his nerves as it reached deep with in.
"Stop resisting," Loki told him. "You want this to work, do you not? Trust me for a mere moment and you shall once more have the power you seek. All I want is for my family to be safe."

She was silent at first. Contained. She gave a nod; they had their accord. It was more than he deserved in her opinion and neither would likely be surprised if it was broken. But it had been struck. Sif intended to keep her word.
She was gentle power as she decided to speak. “You do owe me. Greatly,” she said with a tilt of head before gaze went to the floor in her thoughts. The evenness that seemed to color her days since his capture settled like a mantle about her.
Sif took step forward and addressed him head on. “I intend to collect on those debts. I will ask for my due soon,” she assured. Some might call it unwise to give this warning, if warning was even right word for it. Threat. Dare. Offer.
They had never played by simple rules. Her evenness turned shades darker.
”So perhaps you shouldn’t rush back once all this is over.”
He was almost proud of her for threatening him--or promising, as she no doubt thought of it herself--but he kept his solemn expression. It was necessary to not shatter her temporary trust.
"Or perhaps, to prove my word is true this once, I will surprise us both and return swiftly," he countered, his tone just as even as hers, his gaze fixed and emotionless.
"Then you will learn something from a mortal before we’re through," Christopher retorted. He hadn’t caught the lie, but sympathy and compassion were so deeply woven into his character that even now he couldn’t turn either of them off.
Loki came toward him, and Christopher looked up, wincing at the trail of blood the god left behind. Strange, how part of him was angry, close to furious, and wanted to cause harm, yet he disliked seeing Loki wounded. Perhaps the god wasn’t the only one full of contradictions.
"The tale does concern Sif, and by your tone you know which one," Christopher replied, without admitting he’d gotten it from the goddess herself. He met Loki’s gaze levelly, neither shy nor condemning—yet. "And you may say that it is none of my business, events that transpired long before I was a plot in my father’s mind. But everything else you’ve ever done, that I have seen or heard of, had a logical explanation. Everything else makes sense—a brutal kind of sense, at times, or simply tragic, but still there is a reason.”
He lifted his hands almost imploringly, but the edge of his anger lurked in his voice. “This? This, I cannot fathom. The one sin I cannot forgive, committed by one I care so much for—it sticks in my throat like a bone, Loki.” That was exactly how it felt, something he could neither swallow and accept, nor sick up and be rid of.
A pause in which conflicting thoughts flickered in Christopher’s expression. Had he gotten his hands on Loki immediately on hearing the story, it would be very different. But righteous anger burned clean and hot and temporary, unlike a simmering grudge born of personal affront. “By all the gods that ever were, Loki, why?”
"How else was she ever to finally see me?" Loki countered, and he did so without hesitation. Why should he lie to Christopher? Especially when the other man so easily seemed to understand him.
"In our youth she was tormented and ignored by all the others," he explained. "She gave Thor her heart, and he both ignored it and took advantage of it depending on his mood, ever leaving her to her loneliness and tears. They treated her as second-best, lower than any other warrior. It was I alone who saw her talent for what it was, and yet every attempt I made to assure she knew this was met with contempt or simply not acknowledged at all."
"In stealing her hair I had thought I might catch her attention finally," Loki added, and as he continued to explain his tone became more angry, more hurt. "That I had finally shown I had talents of my own that were ignored by others, that she and I were the same in this torment, but it was replaced with a shade Thor seemed to prefer. I once more fell to the shadows, but standing in the dark did not hinder my view of her beauty and skill. I yearned to be her friend, at the very least, and even this she gave only reluctantly. So I became the one person she cared for, the only man she seemed to want, and while it was bittersweet, to have her look at me at all--even if I wore another's face--was worth it."
"My intentions were to spend time with her talking, but when I saw how her gaze lit up at the idea of Thor so interested in her, how could I refuse? How could I deny her one night spent with the man she loved while he finally treated her as she should be treated?"
Thor’s annoyance already started bubbling under the surface at Loki’s sarcasm. He already knew Loki’s intentions were sinister, not just because of his nature, but from his overly demeaning and mocking introduction. Thor was already thinking of taking him into SHEILD or even perhaps to Asgard. But first, Thor would try to determine his schemes.
"You know better than I that you have no right here. I will ask one more time- What are you doing here?"
"Even if I were to tell you the truth, would you believe me?" Loki pointed out, and his tone was still sarcastic and defiant, but the smile had faded from his expression. If there was one thing that truly pained him, it was that Thor no longer believed his lies. He'd always been able to depend on his supposed brother to trust him regardless, and while most of his plans were centered around this, the truth was, it really did make him feel good when Thor believed him.
An Interview
"Do you think I’m that blind?" Ellie quipped back. A fast thinker. She knew it wasn’t an answer and she didn’t intend on giving him one. She knew he had some. There were pockets of what she deemed as crazies who actually worshiped him, but they were small in numbers. Still, it was a fact she was not going to share anytime soon. "Please, politicians don’t worship anyone. They are far too vain for that."
Her eyes flickered as he continued to talk. “You don’t understand us very well if you think you’d be a good leader of my people.” My people. It was an odd phrase. She was not a politician, or anything to do with government yet she spoke as if she had the right to speak for her entire race. “We don’t take kind to rulers, especially my country. We may lie, but you are hardly fit to rule earth. No one is…especially not an alien.”
The last bit she muttered. It had always been a question of hers if thing would have turned out differently if he was human. The world was united against him, but if he was human….if he was American, would the Avengers still have stopped him? This was not going like a typical interview. She was usually not so…talkative with the subject. Well she was, but not like this. Not argumentative. Normally doing so would put the subject off.
"Your second time in New York. Tell me about it or I can focus on the Battle of New York. Your choice, Loki."
"After my last escape from imprisonment," Loki began, smiling still in amusement as he looked at her. "I had a purpose in returning to the lovely city of New York. By throwing it into a premature and total winter, I banded the people together and gave them a purpose to focus on while I attempted to solve the real problem."
"Because, you see, the Titan who had taken me prisoner still lived, even if your precious Avengers had freed me from him, and his ultimate goal was a weapon of such power that no one being can hold it without becoming corrupted," he explained. "I'd be willing to bet even your Captain American would fall beneath the weight of its power." This was a blanketed compliment towards Steve, but also a condescending insult towards his do-good personality.
"I gained allies and attempted to gain the weapon before the Titan could," he told her. "Once I had gained it, I used it to defeat him, and in the process sacrificed my life."
Pro Tip for Roleplayers:
Right now, a lot of you are getting that god-awful grey box in place of your gifs and icons. After using the image upload option, go into HTML editor and add an s after the HTTP of the image URL and put a 31. in front of the media in place of what’s there, or if nothing’s there, you shouldn’t get the grey box. Example.
Grey Box.
as opposed to this.
"You preventing utter chaos?" He nearly scoffed at it. With Loki, chaos came with the package. His son, or what was his son, was far gone from existing. This man that stood before him was not the one that he raised. Not the one that he gave a home.
It was true, they were both destined to be kings, but for different kingdoms. Born of Laufey, Loki was meant for Jötunheimr. Just as Thor was meant for Asgard.
The pain increased in his chest for a moment once more and he turned away.
"You expect me to believe you, but you have done nothing but speak of lies around me. You have betrayed everyone that you hold so dear, for what?”
"Did I not tell you that you would give that reply?" Loki asked sarcastically, chuckling a bit. "You are, as ever, predictable. A weakness for a king meant to protect all Realms, don't you think?"
"And you look like shit." There is no malice in the statement- instead it is almost fond. He looked better than he might have, but he had always been sure to keep up appearances. She stepped up to the barrier, the projection of her form solid enough to touch even if she could not feel. A trade off for the magic that let her visit him. The barrier itself didn’t seem to appreciate her attempts to touch it nonetheless, angry color sparking bright across the surface. "Oops."
He smirked a bit as he watched her, seemingly unsurprised by the way the barrier reacted. His own indifference was almost humorous considering it was a jail meant to keep him locked away. "You never were one to coddle. To what do I owe the visit?"
"Nor I yours, but I digress my purposes is urgent."
"Then speak. I shall listen, though I do not promise to care."

Thor: Season One

"And you the god of tricks and evil. You may be victim but I am not a fool." At lest not completely. He should have just taken his power while in the lair of the Asgardians. But there was no turning back now. "Make haste, I am certain your friends will be wondering where you have run off to.”
"I need you to be silent," Loki commented, waving a hand casually. And it left Malekith's mouth threaded much like his own had been at the hands of his people. It was a weak magic the elf could easily break, but it made Loki's point.
He reached forward, placing his palm against Malekith's chest. "For this to work, you must afford me a small degree of trust. The Aether can only reconnect when removed from both of us." A green light began to glow from his palm, filling the other man's chest with tendrils of magic that sought out the darkness within him.
Sigyn watched him for a very long moment, expression pensive and almost wistful. “All I want is for my family to be whole again. And that includes you.” A soft, knowing smile touched her lips.
The illusion raised a hand towards hers before Loki himself remembered that he could not hold her in that moment. "I shall do my best to give you what you desire most," he promised. And in a flicker of light, the image of Loki was gone.

She understood his meaning. Of course she did. It eased in the immediacy but would hardly do anything but trouble her as hours progressed. She knew it, had known it, and yet she had asked. She would not deny the answer.
He cared. She still had trouble with that.
"I will protect your wife and what she bears." Her words were ever a vow in too many ways. A truce perhaps. He did not ask her not to follow this time. Yet by accepting she was promising it regardless.
Maybe she didn’t understand in full. Maybe he knew things she didn’t that changed all this. But that still did not mean his plans were good or right and that would always cut wounds in her heart. It would all be seen in the end, and she would likely hate it, but that seemed the way of things of late.
He studied her expression for a moment, and he knew then that she would do as he asked. Sigyn could look after herself, but he was taking no chances with Malekith so near and carrying most of the Aether.
"Then I will be evermore in your debt beyond what I already am," Loki told Sif quietly. There was a sincerity to his tone that rarely made an appearance when he spoke.
