Dancing and chatting into 2016
It’s nearly the end of February already and we’ve been very busy in the cove with music and cove torques!
Burgess Furniture and Simon Eldon were in again at the start of January photographing for their new catalogue. The lorry arrived with lots of exciting boxes. Really impressed at their new range of brightly coloured tub style chairs.
Andy from Good Bits brought his Honda along with his Ducati and Laverda for a cove torque and to film a promo for Good Bits. The final edit will soon be available on YouTube. Andy’s Honda (a resurrection of a 1970s racing Honda), ridden by Rob Wittey, was extremely successful last year and he’s in the process of building three more (one already finished) to be sold this year.
We were honoured with a visit from the lovely Andrea Seed of Poppyseed Media. Andrea reported how pleased they were with the success of last year’s NEC Classic Motor Show coverage that we’re back again this year to cover the 2016 show. We’ll also be the official photographers for the PC Resto show in March. Whilst we had Andrea in the cove we took the opportunity to have a chat on camera with her about her passion for motor events and lego! YouTube video up soon...
So along with all the chatting we’ve also had the pleasure of some music in the cove! Colour of Noise chose to shoot their latest video for the single “Can you hear me?” on the turntable so we had Alex in from Verri Media shooting for the day. Check out the finished product here...
Also in for a video shoot were punk rock band Deadlock. We broke out the green screen for this one and the chaps enjoyed a great afternoon filming in the cove. Video will be available on completion of their album. Oh and thanks for the cinnamon buns!
Rounding off the music in February was CMP Studios with their new product “The Box that Rox”. This is a karaoke trailer that gives you all the confidence of singing in the car or shower by yourself but with an audience on the outside...oh I’ll let Tom explain it better once the promo is up and running! We welcomed the Little Beer Bou back to serve drinks and much singing and laughing was had by all! For entertainment at a party, wedding or event I can’t recommend this highly enough.
So as February draws to a close it’s all go on the motor front again with an Aston in on Monday after a weekend at Race Retro photographing everything there is on show! See you again in March....
Jingle all the way
December started with a bang, fresh out of the NEC Classic Motor Show and straight into a Mazda marathon with GForces. The whole fleet were delivered on the Sunday and our studio valet Tim from BJM Valeting got to work on the first three in preparation for the start of the shoot on Monday. Martin from GForces had prepped us fully in advance and worked closely with Rupert on the shot list. The Six Bells sustained us with their fine lunches throughout the shoot and everything progressed like clockwork.
After the 8 day shoot with GForces and Mazda we went straight into more Astons and a rather special Porsche 911, all for Byron International / All Aston Martin.
Then saw the return to the studio of two Hesketh 24s. Now in full production and with a few minor adjustments along the way it was great to see the completely finished product in two different colour schemes. Footage of these bikes to be published soon.
Coming up to Christmas now and we welcomed The Conspiritors in for a rehearsal prior to their Christmas gig with Robin Guy giving the drums some stick (get it?!…groan…). Director Corin Hardy back on vocals in a rare moment of down time after The Hallow’s cinema release - the most beautiful horror we’ve seen in a long time and we recommend that you see it as soon as possible!
Final job before a day off was photographing the Tina Turner Experience to update their head shots with make up artist Kitty Boo and her assistant Louise on hand to make sure everyone was camera ready. Andrea worked her magic behind the camera again getting the girls to relax in moments.
I think that Christmas must have happened for a day or two and then straight back to it with some video shoots for Hazardous Funk. Big thanks to Ingrid of Fine to Fabulous for her airbrushing skills, we couldn’t have done it without you! Also big thanks to Niall of Drive Wild Horses for bringing his burgundy Mustang in for day two of shooting for Tony Rico to look menacing behind the wheel.
Looking forward to a packed January! HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
November in a nutshell
EThe Jaguara remained in the cove after the Firle Hill Climb film night and we had a very nice couple of days working on this and an MX5 Concept Sportster brought in by Gareth of the MX5 Restorer, a car he has long held close to his heart and has now built from the ground up.
RM Sotheby’s contacted us needing a special place to shoot a stunning Ferrari 212 (Emma’s personal favourite car of the year!) for its upcoming sale. We welcomed them in along with their photographer Tom Gidden and had an enjoyable day. A special mention here goes to Carlos of Braggatto Prestige who transports for RM Sotheby’s amongst others and who has re-designed his transporter to make it infinitely more practical. We were very impressed. If you would like a little overview of the day check out our behind the scenes video.
Marc Fish brought his students in to have their projects photographed by Tony Rogers and the studio was full of innovative design and expert craftsmanship. For more information on his furniture courses please click through to his website.

Throughout November we photographed a number of Aston Martins - followers of our social media will no doubt already be aware of this! Rupert can never resist a little trumpet serenade to get him in the mood for the Aston photography and we can never resist creeping up on him for a cheeky phone vid! See Facebook or Twitter....
The end of November brought us the tiredest feet of our lives as the official photographers for The Classic Motor Show at the Birmingham NEC. The two Andreas (below) are smiling through the pain ;-)
Despite the running around we had a fantastic time photographing and filming every aspect of this event and the staff and the organisers couldn’t have been more helpful. On our return to base camp, after the flurry of editing and delivering we thought it would be a silly idea to have a couple of days off and flew straight into the busiest December ever!
