About Muse
About my Credence/Aurelius.
This is just a summary of my strong beliefs of the character in canon, and my headcanons thrown together. For example, belief would be that he has social and physical issues, he has anxiety and trauma, and he is a victim of PTSD, Grooming, and Abuse, etc. Headcanon would be that he is queer, IE gay, and could fall in love with a man, for example, Newt (granted, i feel like it seems almost canon that Credence was groomed by Grindlewald and had feelings for him, however toxic, but thats just me). ANYWAYS~! This is just a culmination of info, for my version of Credence.
[Upon FB2, I am unsure yet what’s to be believed about Credence’s true bloodline, so I claim him as Credence/Aurelius, based on timeline and verse and scenario. It seems more likely that Grindlewald is lying to manipulate hate against Albus in Credence, to use him, especially given the Dumbledore family Timeline doesn’t make sense with this possibility but she who must not be named has already been a little iffy with consistency on some things over the years, so it’s also possible. I just go with movie stuff enough to be workable in fandom]

My Credence/Aurelius is played as around the age of at least 22 during the first FB movie. I believe him to be a victim of abuse, grooming, brainwashing, and a great deal of trauma, which has brewed varying levels of anxiety, depression, and repression, as is clear in the movie. To a certain degree, I also believed him to be, or headcanon’d him to be autistic, however I am not an autistic person and will no longer deem to try and play such until I can be sure I can play such well and accurately and with respect. Generally my roleplays would involve him recovering from and dealing with his magical, emotional, and mental issues.
His life has left him to tend to be less social than most, with iffy social skills, and he tends to be skittish around people, especially strangers. He keeps at a distance and observes, if not, secludes himself. But he doesn’t prefer loneliness, he has just spend most of his life in the company of few to none that he feels safe and cared for in their company (Modesty, his adoptive sister, being the only person until after the events of the first movie). But if he trusts someone and their nature enough, he warms up to them. Sometimes, he can be dependent, though, so it’s a very conflicting and complicated existence. He can depend on their energy, their presence, as if he needs to drink in the positivity, and then he tends to feel like a childish burden, and it drives him to detach again. But, with those patient enough to understand, he can manage a decent balance, and can enjoy careful and consensual contact.
I play him as gay as well, or perhaps demi-romantic but male-inclined, and perhaps more homosexual than attracted to both sexes.
My Credence/Aurelius is playable in different timelines, though I’m more inclined to Recovery roleplays (at the moment), meaning based after the events of the first movie. But I am open to plotting and working with different scenarios.
How I Interact
This is being made for roleplaying purposes, but it is also available for ooc Asks about character thoughts, and ic asks aimed towards Credence, be they random asks or remarks, or rp meme/starter/prompt content. If you have a question for the mun, please make that clear by putting /For Mun first in your message. PM for roleplaying, we can figure out whether or not to rp through pm or through posts from there. Go to asks, obviously, to Ask Credence/Aurelius. Nsfw asks is okay, just not really nasty stuff. Preferably just things having to do with the character, something he can respond to. If you ever have a special request, like something you want my feedback on instead of a Credence/Aurelius response (or my feedback AND Credence/Aurelius response), just specify by saying /For Both/ or /For Feedback/.
Headcanons
He still has a lot to learn about the Magical community, as all he had to learn from was GrindelGraves (presumably, unsure my headcanons on real-graves, I’m between belief of whether or not he met Credence/Aurelius before Grindelwald took him) and his hateful adoptive mother; one didn’t fully understand magic beyond what she feared and she stereotyped and demonized it, whereas GrindelGraves probably built it up to something desirable, admirable, something to achieve and used the community to tempt Credence/Aurelius with while never actually fully exposing him to it beyond what magic him performed in front of him/on him (Apparating, Healing Charms, so forth).Though I do not ship Gradence/GravesXCredence (respect and love to those who do, I understand why you’d ship it, I would in another life probably, but it’s just not my taste in this fandom so, respectfully, my Credence/Aurelius would not participate in ship stuff with a Graves or GrindleGraves.), I do actually believe Credence may have held feelings for Graves, or the idea of him as it ended up being. I don’t believe they were healthy, they surely weren’t entirely true and pure seeing as how it was a distance relationship with a man who popped in to fix him when he was broken only to leave, using him while he was gone. I think he may have held attraction for him, and surely a dependent affection that was nurtured by GrindelGraves (all those touches and close, almost intimate moments). It is one of the many things I headcanon him have to recover from. You are free to address this in rp or ask, I just ask you don’t push it in too negative a way that is now mutually agreed upon.
There is a lot to recover from with his mother, Abuse of the physical, emotional, and mental nature. Conditioning when it comes to his magic, because though he may realize the actual normal, natural nature to the magical community and learn not only how common magic is but how human it is, how normal it can be, it does not change what he’s grown up around; he may still experience problems with magic, whether be related to himself, or other people using it. Physical contact and when it is allowed will be complicated. Relationships are more complicated. And there are many things about himself he will have to grow to accept and learn, where he was not able to under her before.
I’m laboring under the headcanon that he either was not fully aware of his power, or perhaps he’d sort of repressed memories as much as he repressed his magic, therefor repressed his knowledge. His mind sort of conditioned him to forget or twist around his knowledge of things he’d done or caused, or perhaps he denied it in fear of being found out and then the memories were repressed to sort of protect him, because it felt as if knowing was just as bad as showing. But, over the course of the things that happen to him during the movies timeline, I think the repression is regressing and he’s realizing. Maybe the hints are heavy for him around the time or after he kills Shaw, but by the time his mother advances on Modesty with his belt, he knows, he’s realizing, and he looses control. That’s why he’s sitting there, whimpering, begging ‘Please help me’. And when he released the obscurus in front of Graves, that was the only time he let it loose on purpose. Otherwise, he was never sure of what was wrong with him, that he was even what Graves was looking for, he just knew the answer was either in the magical community, in magic, or at least away from Mary Lou.
I enjoy the idea of Credence/Aurelius having developed a joy for painting or sketching, and that that develops into a skill and a hobby.
As skittish as he is with people, I think he’s comfortable with creatures, so long as they aren’t automatically or intensely threatening.
Ships: I honestly don’t have many. Like I said, I don’t ship Gradence. I see some of the appeal of the original Graves, but that I’m still not inclined to rp, I apologize. The most I would do is roleplay the complicated feelings and situation, but never actual ship scenarios. Any other ships, I could probably enjoy fluff and angst with, but I don’t really ship anything but one ship. Which happens to be Newt and Credence/Aurelius*.
**Crewt/Newdence, whatever the ship name is (I wish it was consistent, it gets to be a problem), is my biggest ship. I will say this, I’m aware in canon Newt and Tina end up married, and I am not saying I believe Crewt could end up being canon by my shipping it. I just, personally, prefer them for each other. Let’s just say, in my own perfect world, Newt and Tina would have a short time of being together because they so had a thing for each other obviously, but would find out that thought they worked okay as friends, a lot of their habits and traits do not mesh well in a romantic situation. So they would mutually end things, stay very good friends, and Newt and Credence/Aurelius would have been developing a friendship and closeness as Credence/Aurelius was helped by Newt and company to recover, and over time their relationship would develop into something very pure, sweet, considerate, as well as progressive, challenging, but above all, caring (for both of them). Hey, Queenie did say Newt needed a giver; Credence/Aurelius would so develop into a very giving, caring person just as a result of the bullsh*t of his life. But that is just me. I’d love for some Crewt, but I won’t push for it.
-more eventually-
And that is all for this, thank you~
