Hi so! Weird thing here! But a friend brought to my attention theres alot of generational knowledge passed down from mothers to daughters, and grandmothers to daughters. Imma be real. I didnt think of it. Ive always considered myself a trans ally but it never even crossed my mind I had stuff my mom taught me that other women just wouldnt know? (Like cleaning blood out of fabric, painting nails without painting the skin, braiding hair, etc)
So what id like to do here is ask trans women, is there anything you wished you knew that cis people just get taught by their mothers? And for anyone with that generational knowledge to maybe share it as well! Im gonna try to put together a word doc of any tips mentioned in the replies to this, ill post it once its got a few pages!
I feel like knowledge like this is meant to be shared, if you have anything youd like to share that you were taught how to do please add it!!
(Sorry if this seems weirdly typed, I didnt proofread it and i feel very emotional abt the topic so its prob a weird blend of stuff? But anyways yeah please share stuff ur moms/sisters/grandmas etc may have taught u so we can share the knowledge with women who didnt grow up getting it)
Terfs are not welcome on this post.
