The End of Produce2, Start of a New Beginning for NU’EST: Expected Comeback After Vacation

The revelation of the final episode of Produce 101 Season 2 has brought about a mix of happy and saddening news for the four Pledis trainees on the program. While Hwang Minhyun made it into the final 11 at number-nine spot, three other Pledis trainees have unfortunately missed the cut line at 13th (Kang Dongho), 14th (Kim Jonghyun) and 20th (Choi Mingi). Fans felt and shared the tears of Hwang Minhyun as the show draw to a close, worrying about their next steps.

However, this unexpected twist of fate has brought about new heights for NU’EST. “Nation’s Leader” ‘Kim Jonghyun’ trended first on NAVER, and their classic track, ‘Hello’ surged to 1st on Melon’s Sudden Soar Chart. The train didn’t just stop there - soon, several songs were climbing up Melon’s Real-Time charts in the next couple of hours, and have remained in the daily top 100 for the last three days; ‘Hello’ also peaked at Genie’s Real-Time Chart at no.1, making it the first track to ever reach the top of any music charts in the last 6 years of NU’EST’s career. ‘NU’EST’ also became #1 on Melon’s Top Artiste Chart. and have remained so for the last three days.

The very same night the program ended, at 5AM KST, sleepless L.O.V.Es pushed 13 NU’EST tracks onto the Sudden Soar Chart, topping #1-#13 spots. Love Paint, Daybreak, Thank You and Overcome all made an appearance on Melon’s Real-Time Charts.

The official Fancafe members have also tripled since the start of Produce 101, hitting their 50k mark on the 17th, and reaching 75k mark as of the time this article is being written. When they’ve gained 1-2k members in the span of a comeback in the past, they’re gaining hundreds of new members within an hour. The Fancafe supporters have been hard at work all day and night, clearing out new applications so that they can join in on the boards, even having to close down the level-up board so that they can work more efficiently without new posts streaming in.

Love Paint music video emerged first on NAVER TOP 100 as fans translate their unjust into streaming and support. The NAVER video has now gotten over 2 mil views, and today, LOOK choreography video made its way into the top 5 alongside Love Paint MV. New fansites emerged for the boys during the last broadcast, and existing fansites all sees a growth in their following.

And Pledis sees the results. The numbers have spoken, and the trends and push from fans and supportive public worked.

From the initial statement of ‘nothing has been decided’, the agency updated with an official statement in a few hours, promising a stage with the remaining four members, Kim Jonghyun, Kang Dongho, Kwak Aron and Choi Mingi to meet with the fans soon after their well-deserved break. In the most hopeful official statement to date, Pledis pledged to work hard so that NU'EST, as five, would be able to walk on the flower road, and asked fans to look over them fondly.

From the initial mixed results in joining the program to overwhelming support, NU’EST have walked a mile in the last four months. While it would take 18 months before we can see the group as five again, with exciting things in store for both NU’EST and WANNA ONE with Minhyun, the wait would be a short one.

May NU’EST only walk the flower path from now on.

[MBN] ‘Happy Together 3’ Side “Five Members of Wanna One, 3 Aug ·10 Aug, 2-part Broadcast”

[MBN Star Kim Solji Reporter] Group Wanna One will appear on KBS2 ‘Happy Together 3’. 'Happy Together 3′ revealed to MBN Star this afternoon, 24th Jul, that “Wanna One members Kang Daniel, Yoon Jisung, Hwang Minhyun, Ong Seongwoo, Park Jihoon will participate in ‘Happy Together 3′s recording on the 28th”. Following, they added, “it is scheduled for broadcast over two weeks on 3rd, 10th August”. Wanna One is a project group formed through Mnet ‘Produce 101 Season 2’. Ahead of their upcoming debut into the music industry on 7th August, excitement and anticipation is high as they will show their faces on a variety show for the first time through ‘Happy Together 3′.

NU'EST Greets Audience for MBC Idol Cooking King

With Chuseok coming around the corner, MBC has revealed more and more teasers for their upcoming Mid-autumn TV special, MBC Idol Cooking King. Over 200 idols have been gathered in a heated cook-off, with members from 62 teams including EXO, VIXX, TWICE, 24K, Laboum and more.

In the greeting teaser, each member made a brief individual greeting in their separate rooms; it seems like they were given a 10-minute limit to whip up a dish from the ingredients given, and remembering the previous cooking experiences from the boys, all we can say is, best of luck.

The program is scheduled to air on 14 Sep, at 6:05PM KST, so don't miss the special.

NU'EST Will Be On The Show's Pre-show Chatting Room

NU'EST is scheduled to perform on SBS MTV The SHOW starting next week for Love Paint, and they are officially invited for the 87th episode's pre-show chatting room. The chatting room lasts for one hour before the official show starts at 7PM KST.

Fans are welcome to send questions via comments on their official Weibo in Mandarin. Tune in to watch NU’EST answer questions and play games as well; a Laifeng live stream is available every week starting at 7PM KST.

Meanwhile, NU'EST is in the running on the list of potential nominees for Tudou Chart, coming in at no.4 at the time the article is written. More streaming are expected for a confirmed nomination as the Top 3, so please head on over to bump the views up.

NU’EST to be on Live-Broadcast of Park So Hyun’s Idol TV on 16 Feb, Opens Q&A to Fans On Mobile App

Just one day before the official release of their 4th mini-album ‘Q is.’, NU’EST will be appearing live on 해요!TV (Haeyo TV) - Park So Hyun’s Idol TV to answer fans’ questions and missions. The MBC program could be live streamed on your mobile devices with its app downloadable via Google play or Apple store.

The program is now accepting fans’ submission, so head on over if you have any burning questions for the boys! Like always, be polite and refrain from spamming the board, as it is not a discussion forum. It is recommended for L.O.V.E.s to process their submissions via Korean, as it is a Korean program after all.

NU’EST Baekho Participates in ISAC 60m Dash

The biannual MBC Idol Star Athletic Championships (ISAC) is back for another season this Lunar New Year, and our very own NU’EST member Baekho showed much fighting spirit with his participation in the men’s 60m dash segment.

This is also the member’s 2nd time participating in ISAC’s 60m dash, the last being two years back in 2014.

Those who have yet to watch the clip could hop on over for Baekho’s cut over here!

SPOILER UNDER CUT

With an exciting preliminary round where five out of six participants crossed the line at a seemingly same time, the NU’EST member pulled out from the pack, beating out popular choices Big Star’s Feeldog and 100%’s Changbum, and tied with Big Star’s Sunghak at first place. 

The results were so close that photo verification was conducted, and the round left the panal in much awe, as MC commented that it was as exciting as watching the finals.

While Baekho’s final dash of 7.69 seconds did not win him a stop on the podium, it was definitely a great run. MBC have also released a couple of special behind-the-scenes shots, featuring members of NU’EST and Seventeen hanging comfortably together, and we hope to spot more of the boys on such sporting events in the future.

NU’EST will also be making their comeback to the Korean music scene next week with 4th mini-album ‘Q is.’. The album is now up for pre-order at major music sites.

Love Story Season 5 EP 2: NU'EST Shows Behind-The-Scenes Footage In Japan, Announces Livestream For EP3

Hosted by special MC JR, it showed a short footage of them in the waiting room, short clip of them rehearsing as well as a chat with the members ahead of the game session with Japanese fans.

As with previous LOVE Story episodes, L.O.ㅅ.Es got a look at the boys behind-the-scenes. Highlights include wild(?) Ren's canine-tooth-showing-smirk and shocking appearance of Ero-Minki, as well as Baekho's amusement and surprise over the Pop-up Peppero toy, and showing no mercy to his fans.

At the end, MC for the episode JR has passed his MC baton to resident DJ, Aron, for the live broadcast happening this weekend, 14 Sep at 1500 hours KST. Interested L.O.ㅅ.Es can tune in to the livestream over here!
