that’s a wrap for yoibb18!

the last project for the 2018 viktuuri reverse bang event has been posted, minus a straggler or two! 

there will be a masterlist of unfulfilled works posted tomorrow before the final closing post, which will have a list of projects with partners who went awol or participants who started out as solo-writers and didn’t end up finding a pinch-hitter. if you missed your chance to participate, this will be your opportunity to help out! details will be provided tomorrow.

in addition if you enjoyed this event, or if you want your favorite authors and artists to know how much you appreciated their hard work, etc etc please feel free to send in a nice comment! whether you do so on ao3, direct messaging, or through this blog’s ask function, i’m sure the participants will appreciate it!

yoi: viktuuri reverse bang 2018 pinch-hitter sign-ups OPEN until june 10

hello friends! @katsukifatale​ here bringing you the official pinch-hitter sign-up post for yoibb18!

what is a reverse bang?

a reverse bang is a fanwork challenge / collaborative project in which an artist and a writer are paired up to create new works for the fandom on a deadline. the art is created first to inspire the fic!

what am i looking for?

artists and writers of any caliber and media are welcome, whether youre a veteran or a first-timer! you don’t need a tumblr to participate!

what are the requirements?

all of the rules apply to pinch-hitters but minimums may be relaxed depending on when you are called on and you will be automatically eligible for an extension.

what is the claim process for pinch-hitters?

pinch-hitters, please take a look at the wip document. you will be asked to claim a minimum of three pairing numbers and/or solo writer numbers in the sign-up form. whether you are an artist or a writer (or both), the pairing/solo writer numbers you choose signify who you are willing to step in for should someone drop out.

i’m scheduling this to post because i’m not sure if i will have reliable wifi after i move to japan, so please forgive me for any mistakes.

it’s almost august 18, so i wanted to remind my writer participants that your fics should be completely posted and marked complete by the end of the day tomorrow!

it’s also the soft due date for all of the last-minute pinch-hitters who volunteered to help out with the unfulfilled works! please let me know when you finish them and send me the link via submit so i can add them to the posts! you may also of course add them to the bang collection!

hey guys my name is mac (aka @katsukifatale) and i’m bringing @yurionicebigbang back for its second round! whoo hoo!!

what is a bang?

in case you are unfamiliar with the terms, a bang is a fanwork challenge/collaborative project in which an artist and a writer are paired up to create new works for the fandom on a deadline. a reverse bang is a challenge in which art is created first to inspire the fic.

what am i looking for?

artists, writers, graphics makers, cosplayers, etc of any caliber! whether this is your first time participating in a fanwork event or you’re an event veteran, it’s all fine as long as you’re interested in meeting new friends and providing new content for the fandom!

you will be anonymous until artist-writer partnerships are announced so this is a good chance to branch out from the familiar!

what are the responsibilities?

● traditional/digital artists will create a minimum of two works; graphics and cosplayers will create a minimum of four works ● writers will create a fic of a minimum of 5,000 words ● full list of rules here; full faq page here.

● artist sign-ups begin january 7 ● writer sign-ups begin feb 25 ● check-in 1 is april 27 ● check-in 2 is may 25 ● final projects due june 12 ● full schedule here

what is a reverse bang?

a reverse bang is a fanwork challenge / collaborative project in which an artist and a writer are paired up to create new works for the fandom on a deadline. the art is created first to inspire the fic!

what am i looking for?

anyone can join, including but not limited to traditional and digital media, graphics makers, and cosplayers!

what are the requirements?

for the final project, all traditional / digital media artists must create a minimum of two brand new works, and all graphics makers and cosplayers must create a minimum of four new works.

there is no maximum but all works should be finished and polished by the final deadline.

what is the claim process for artists?

january 7-january 27: artists sign up using the link below february 11- february 17: artists submit sketches and summaries of their projects february 25: writers sign up and begin to claim the artists they want to work with march 23: artist-writer pairs announced no later than this date

i am also an artist personally. i wasnt planning on volunteering in this way because i might be moving to a new continent this summer and i will be super busy with that, but i will be signing up as a pinch-hitter and i’ll be willing to work with a writer (or writers) who are continuing on solo. i’ll also be adding that as an option on the pinch-hit form for artists who are specifically looking to work with solo writers!

if any other current artists are interested in doing this as well, that would be great! plan to sign up as a pinch-hitter!

artist sign-ups for the viktuuri reverse bang open in five days!

hey there it’s your host @katsukifatale!  i hope you all had a great, relaxing holiday and are heading into the new year feeling refreshed and ready to work  ᕙ(⇀‸↼‶)ᕗ

artist sign-ups officially open on january 7th and will remain open until january 27th! after that, artists have approx two weeks until their wips are due. feel free to start ahead of time if you’re a slow sketcher! the official sign-up post will be published at 00:01cst on the 7th so keep an eye out!
