Much like her ex, Nora held certain grudges against those who held power over others: the government, primarily, but also, importantly, the rich. Unfortunately, Nora also needed money to live. And most of the people who had money enough to share... would be defined as rich. That kind of wealthy was rarely willing to share, however.
So maybe a few evasive maneuvers were necessary. Maybe it wasn’t stealing if the victim had too much money to even notice a few things were gone.
See, there was this one guy who wore capes everywhere, left 100% tips, used a black credit card, wore chunky pure-gold rings, and lived in a townhouse with a balcony covered in flowers. Nora had followed him there. Then she had waited for him to leave. Then she had picked the lock and broken in.
It didn’t take long for her plan to go wrong, though. She was tiptoeing through the foyer when that same guy appeared at the top of the stairs.
Even setting aside the impossibility of space-time bending, that was weird.
“Uh... hi. I’m... your new... housekeeper. Hi.”
