Near the town of Herning in Denmark sits Elia, a giant metal dome sculpture by Ingvar Cronhammar that occasionally spouts flame. Tom Scott reckons that it's the world's most frustrating piece of art, and here's why.

Ingvar Cronhammar (b. Dec. 17, 1947) is a Swedish-born, Danish sculptur who works mainly on monumental installations such as the one above.

Elia (2001), situated in a field near Herning,  is 60 meters in diameter and the towers rise 32 meters into the air. The dome and 4 towers are made from steel. A gas burner in the center spouts flame once during a 19-day cycle...
