"I trust you."

“I still think I’m going to mess this up,” Jemma points out, but there isn’t much of a choice. Daisy is coming but in the meanwhile she has to look after the inhuman kid, try to calm him down, to see if they can sort something out. And it’s so weird to have someone say they trust her on this, or on anything lately, because she has felt quite ignored most of the time when trying to give advice, but Daisy, of course Daisy would say it and mean it. “But fine. I’ll give it my best shot. Whatever the team captain wants.”She’s Director, but because years ago Daisy had said she might as well be team captain, and Jemma still has her memory, there is still some friendly teasing happening.
By the time Daisy arrives, the kid is laughing and showing off, and Jemma is grinning, sitting on the floor with her legs crossed and watching him go. She doesn’t need to look at Daisy to know she’s looking smug because she was right about this too. Jemma meanwhile has no idea of why she can connect with inhumans so well, apparently they find the science behind their powers comforting or something. “Shut up,” she anticipates Daisy, “It’s dumb luck.”
