I'm thinking I might lowkey come back - if I even find rp partners after a year of being gone lol maybe keep this blog this way or make it into a sideblog, though that would make even harder to find rpers?
because the 100 recently inspired me to write my version of Jemma again; watching a character claim she was fine while obviously over-traumatized and to be called out on it and still repress, only to FINALLY snap at the end because she's human and will break reminded me that that's the arc I wrote for Jemma and that I miss it. And also that I want to write some Dark(er) Jemma aus.
It's NOT an excuse to hate on other characters (and there are some I absolutely adore, seriously, yet Jemma would have problems with them), it's just very entertaining to write different aus and see how things could have gone. Jemma snapping in season 2 when ptsd-driven and feeling isolated and unable to explain herself? Hating herself, Hydra, and either accepting the perceived hate from the team or resenting them for assuming she'd abandon people or hurt them? Maybe leaving once it was clear they didn’t even trust her not to hurt Skye because of her crime of ‘leaving Fitz’ and ‘wanting enhanced weapons to fight because scared of people with powers’ (like, you know, Raina who literally cut her teammates’ throats in front of her at the temple), being both DONE with most of the team while desperately wanting Skye to know that she’d have never hurt her or abandoned her, while still having May’s back because May always had hers?
Interacting with people outside of the team while being so bitter and having lost hope in herself and others, knowing that everything she did with good intentions hurt people, so she might as well use her other skills, like not caring about killing bad guys, to do what other ‘good’ guys can’t?
or s2 still happening but s3 having my own hell-version of Maveth, who learned to fight and live like a monster and after will just try to be a human again?
s4 having Jemma leave because of the obvious breakdown she was having?
Jemma breaking earlier instead of becoming the support/therapist/nurse/nice character with social skills and no real personal plots, and instead still being the 'socially inept but trying, biochemistry-loving' genius who will claim to follow the rules but break them whenever she disagrees, who schemes and is petty and vengeful and surprisingly okay with murder, over-blames herself and is sarcastic and TRIES to help her friends whom she loves so much but can come off pretty creepy at times, and yet loving, and is growing more traumatized and done and broken by season?
and seriously season 2? Someone incredibly traumatized from watching her best friend drown in front of her after giving her the last breath of oxygen, who dragged his body out of the water and almost died in the ocean after their other friend turned out to be a traitor, who clearly blamed herself and who didn't know how to connect with her friend anymore, how to read him, and felt she was making him worse, so she went undercover, alone, in the middle of freaking hydra, unable to contact the team, to break, to process, to heal, doing horrible things for them without any training, and came back to the base just to find out everyone knew her private business with her friend and that everyone thought she either 'abandoned' him because she didn't love him or because he was brain damaged (also as if she wasn't free to go and instead had to watch over Fitz, whether hurting or not, 24/7, to be a good friend, as if that wouldn't give anyone a nervous breakdown by itself), got told she made him worse which confirmed her thoughts, and got told that by Mack who was informed by Coulson that she thought her leaving would make Fitz better, couldn't communicate all this pain to her friend Fitz or he'd blame himself for that too since he was already struggling to needlessly show her he was still capable, was still alone, we hear in s3 that Fitz was 'cranky' and we know him from s2 too enough to know it meant he was in an understandable bad mood but that also meant taking it on Jemma who was already blaming herself for it, had another friend die, was ALONE for days after that while the team came home together, watched the bad guy(woman) with superpowers slaughter her team at the temple where she still was, was framed as scary for wanting to enhance weapons to specifically stop that superpowered enemy, had her friends fear her enough to hide Skye's superpowers from her even though they could have actually been side-effects of a disease that could kill her much like it happened to Jemma in season 1, was told they hid it because she 'left' Fitz once again and that she went on and on about enhanced bad guys, and therefore couldn't be trusted not to leave or hurt Skye, was asked by Coulson to work on something to help Skye while ordered to keep it secret which made people even more wary of her, felt the need to remind Skye that she cared for her because at this point she knew she was seen as a dangerous and not trustworthy person, and never, ever, ever, got to vent, explain or deal with any of this, it was all swept under the rug
