# Overwiew

27, Sovernguard, Autistic.

Sovernguard Autority – very high skill level (violet badge).

She wants to fix the world. Passionate but also accepting. Curious, artistic and imaginative. ISFP. She can inspire others to break the limitations of social conventions and to experiment, even if – or maybe because – she doesn’t do it consciously or deliberately. Very open-minded, sweet and warm when she feels safe, can become unpredictable when stressed.

Easily irritable. A little rigid with her idea of good and bad, but can be persuaded. In the moment of stress, can do literally anything, and she constantly keeps her loved ones on their toes. Can be a challenge to be friends with, but very rewarding when one puts in the effort.

Nersan Ziya – love of her life; Noel Anaher – best friend since she was a kid; Agatha Itra – basically raised her, after her father left, but she’s not a motherly type; Zane Lee – father. Left to pursue more important goals when Emma was about 8, vanished without a trace when she was 16; Marta and Kristofer Lee – sister and brother, twins. Went to look for their father and also vanished, when Emma was 17; Troy Anaher – Noel’s annoying kid brother; Sovia – good friend and team-mate; Helena Reeves – her father’s former protégé. Now just another strong Sovernguard.

# A one-paragraph summary of the character’s storyline:

Emma’s legacy haunts her, even if she doesn’t want to admit it. When an opportunity arises to chase her dream, she drops everything and follows the call. The conflict with the man she loves makes her realize that she was looking at the secrets of her past from the wrong angle, and together they find a way to fulfill her destiny, but in the end, they have to be separated. Emma’s role in the saving of the world requires an ultimate sacrifice on her part. She’s happy to do it because it will open enormous (magical) possibilities for her, but she regrets leaving behind her “earthly” connections.

Magic comes at a steep price. What should be whimsical and wonderful could cost you your life.

2.) How long do you plan for the novel to be?

I think at this point it’s going to be pretty long; maximum being 200K words.

3.) What’s your novel’s aesthetic?

Running through dark hallways, stormy weather, quiet laughter, heart felt magic, mysterious castle passages, quiet forests, powerful words

4.) What other stories have inspired your novel? Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, AoT, and the many dystopian novels I read.

6.) Who is your protagonist?

Alexos

7.) Who is their closest ally? He usually depends on himself, but he and Rivrin are quite the team.

8.) Who is their enemy?

Whoever is behind the disappearance of the students. The problem is, it may be one of their friends.

9.) What do they want more than anything?

To overcome his inner demons and be able to live peacefully.

10.) Why can’t they have it?

Because he’s constantly being haunted by the ghosts of his past and his longing for revenge.

11.) What do they wrongly believe about themselves? That he’s not worthy of love... WHICH IS NOT TRUE 😤

13.) What is the worst thing that could happen to your protag?

Losing whatever bonds he manages to build.

At this point I’m debating two different endings, but I think I know which way it will go at this point.

You never know who to trust... and you must let go of negative emotions in order to live peacefully.

In an alternate reality where magic exists, like an alternate world. Nationalities and countries are still the same.

19.) Do you have images and scenes in mind already?

Yes! I have a lot of scenes between my chosen pairings.

20.) What excited you about this story?

Honestly, I love dystopian novels a lot and I really like magic. Plus, these characters are so much fun to flesh out! I love writing my characters and their dynamics and imagining scenarios between them

21.) What is your usual writing method?

“I can’t do this, I was never meant to do this!” Kas cried. Her knees threatened to buckle, and she clung to anything nearby to keep herself upright.

          “Neither of us were meant to do this. This was never our fate. But we’re in this together now, and we’re going to make it out. Together.”

Kasiana is a Temptress; designed by the gods to be universally alluring and irresistible, as well as a deadly assassin. When she accidentally kills the wrong man, the delicate strings of fate are snapped, and it becomes Kas’s job to mend them. With the help of the abandoned sidekick, whose preference in men keeps him safe from Kas’s spell, Kas embarks on a quest to mend fate’s plan.

           But sinister plots, moralities, and secrets fumble every step. Kas must make her way through it all unscathed, or forever change the course of history, if she hasn’t already. This was never her path, but now she must follow it.

Hey, @inherentlywritten (for some reason I cannot tag you :/ ), thank you for running the Nano Prep Party! 

I have already announced my NaNo 2020 project in this post. So for this Nano Intro, I will give you all a one-page synopsis from the PoV of one of the main characters -- Emma Lee.

Emma finds out her friend, Noel Anaher, was blackmailed by a Forger, Neve Kailash, into getting her a legal Validation (an entry level test-and-ritual that allows one to become the Sentinel, the guardian of the Twelve Enclaves). He says he shouldn’t give in, but Emma knows this situation reminds him of his past. Circumstances are certainly different, but he had been given a second chance many years ago. He doesn’t need a lot of push from Emma to decide to take a risk with Neve.

Meanwhile, Emma’s boyfriend, Nersan Ziya, discovers she had been secretly reading her father’s memoirs and an early draft of the Manifesto that led to one of the most well-known events in the recent history of the Twelve Enclaves. And Emma’s father’s disappearance. Emma doesn’t hope to mount another rescue mission for her father, not when so many years had passed, that’s not what’s on her mind. She can’t really explain why she’s been reading those old documents. Perhaps just to get closer to him? The first notes her father had made are dated twenty-two years ago in the Enclave called Undarum.

Emma assists Anaher in Neve Kailash’s validation and she learns that Neve was born twenty-two years ago. In Undarum.

She tries to inconspicuously make them go to Undarum. Maybe help search for Neve’s family? Those two mysteries seem connected. The problem is, she doesn’t want to tell Anaher about her father’s notes. She’s afraid of his disapproval.

Neve’s grandmother said something about Neve’s mother “appearing out of thin water” and then “going back to the river”. It seems to be just a figure of speech, but when Emma digs through Undarum archives, she finds research expeditions to the (unnamed yet, what? it’s a draft :) Great River region. She thinks it’s worth investigating. She finds a suspicious empty campsite at the Riverbank, but then she’s discovered by Neve, who was also snooping around there.

External circumstances force them to abandon this search. Emma would rather follow the leads, but she chooses to remain a loyal friend to Anaher, whose brother is in trouble. However, Anaher finds out about her research, and he is not understanding at all. A rift between them leaves Emma desolate. Shortly after that, they meet people from Nersan Ziya’s past -- Wendi and Willem. Emma takes it as a betrayal on Nersan’s part and she breaks up with him. 

Now she is completely alone...

That’s about half of the plot. I have the other half, I know what’s going to happen, but I feel there’s a lot of things in that second half, that would only make it less understandable to the casual reader. So, for the purposes of this Intro, I’ll leave you with a cliffhanger. ;)

I would also hoard notebooks and/or pens, tbh. I love them. I never use the notebooks, and only occasionally use the pens, but. I love them.

i’m going to go with Ava! if Ava could pick any superpower, outside of the magic she has already, i think she would go with the ability to fly. as much as she loves the earth and solid ground, i think she would very much enjoy getting a bird’s eye view of the world!

Oooooh. This makes me think of a scene I’ve planned for Pirate’s Bane---specifically, when Aishlynn shows back up. This is definitely a good look at her POV for that scene--especially: Now you know, I’m letting you down / never be your solid ground. Super apt---and definitely something she would say to Asa if she could during that part.
