Hey everyone! I’ve decided to officially introduce myself, now that I’ve finished my Master’s Degree, moved back to the US, and finally have some time to dedicate to this blog again! I know a lot of you, some of you know me and have been interacting with my story for the past year or so (thank you ❤), and I look forward to meeting the rest of you!!
A bit about me:
I’m 23, job searching is killing my soul (😭), I’m an aspiring cartographer (amongst other things), I’m allergic to using a proper tagging system, and I write fantasy stories and entropic poetry
I write mostly in English, and occasionally in French (which I will deny that I know, but if you message me in French I promise I’ll respond!)
I’ve had some poetry published and I’m currently deciding how I’m going to publish a short story I finished recently
I have a long list of languages that I’m learning
I loveeeeeeee Telugu films and Bahubali is my favourite, along with (in no order) Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana, Pathala Bhairavi, and Spyder
My favourite books, again in no order, are The Wheel of Time series, The Mapmaker’s Trilogy, the Bizenghast series, the stories of Noor Khan, the poetry of Frank o'Hara and Mary Reufle (and other things I’m sure 😂)
I’m also a huge fan of BioShock, BioShock Infinite and Hamilton
My writing:
I’m currently working on one novel, called Summer of Fire, and plotting out a second one (details coming soon!). You can find my novel intro post here and page, which is meant to resemble a newspaper (and probably isn’t mobile friendly, sorry!), here!
Summer of Fire follows 20-year-old Viviane Fujiwara as she works to uncover the truth behind the King of Nevia’s death. Along the way, she meets Adian Aher and his best friend Brenna, and together they discover a terrorism plot that threatens the life of Nevia’s Prince and aims to destabilize Brenna and Adian’s country, Aeressia.
My blog:
I’m here for diverse characters, multicultural stories, new worlds, old worlds, fantasy, magic, adventures, romance, and feminism; you can expect to find the same things from me!
I do beta reading! I’m pretty busy reviewing the stories of @sirinsquared right now, but I’m always down to work something out if you’re interested!
Feel free to hit me up anytime you want to talk or say hi! I’m full of history facts, hair and skin care tips, eco-clothing/plastic free lifestyle/sewing knowledge, advice on moving/studying/traveling abroad and so much more. You can also hit up my best friend @sirinsquared for art commissions (tell her I sent you!) We also co-manage the blog @solarpunkfashionreview!
I’m going to tag the people on my novel tag list, @explodingkittenwithsquidsforeyes @mvcreates @pilipalea @pixel-is-writing @nightskywriter @wolvesofarcadia and @endlesshourglass
And @writeblrs and @thewriteblrarchives
I look forward to meeting you guys! ❤
Hi all! What’s the plan for June?
I may have not thought about what will be happening in June until now... (Time moves too fast!) So what would everyone benefit from?
I can make more prompt lists again or I can have a weekly topic for worldbuilding / character-building that will lead up to the Camp NaNoWriMo this July. Any and all suggestions welcome! Reply to this post or send us an ask.

writeblr intro: nour (nou-tar)
Hi! So this blog has been running for a while, but I never truly got around to either introducing myself as a writeblr or posting about my wips. Thankfully, though, I finally have the time to sit down and type this all up, so here we go! My name is Nour ( @nou-tar). While I am acquainted with some writeblrs from my time on the PLAN:NET server, I’d love to know more, so give this a reblog and I’ll check you out!
About Me
I’m a Scorpio, and INFP. My name means “light” in Arabic, which you’d think is very poetic, but is actually a very common name where I’m from. I live in Cairo, Egypt, although I spend a LOT of time in Alexandria, my original hometown –it shows in my writing, haha. I’m seventeen, and I’ve very recently finished my senior year of high school and am waiting to start my freshman year at university, double-majoring in graphic design and film. I’ve always loved telling stories, ever since I’d first learned to talk- my parents tell me I used to just start telling stories, and they’d scramble around for a pen and paper to catch what I’m saying. Over time I liked to draw my characters and write crazy stories for my English assignments and in my schoolbooks’ margins. When I was eight, my dad taught me to type on his old PC, and that’s when I decided I wanted to be a serious writer. I mostly write YA, although I’m also going to try and foray into younger audiences, as I’ve always loved children’s stories. I’ve never done NaNoWriMo due to unfortunate circumstances every time I try, but this year I’m going to try to compete!
A few facts about me:
- I love cartoons. A lot.
- I’ve done ballet for over ten years and have only recently quit due to an injury + personal circumstances.
- I play the violin.
- I’m named after two different celebrities and it’s stupider than you think.
My WiPs
Kemet Modern- a YA urban fantasy that centers on several characters’ interwining lives in modern-day Egypt, who deal with the secret supernatural forces that still roam the land. When an ancient prophecy that speaks of great darkness comes to fruition, it’s up to the principal character –a young artifact-trafficker named Yara- to bring back the dawn. However, the Egypt of today is not the Egypt of times long past. This WiP is my passion project, and something I’ve been working on for several years.
The Song of Laisix- YA fantasy. Calamity and war has descended upon the land of Laisix. Four “Chosen Ones” have been prophesied to rise up and end the war, but their fate is uncertain, and they come from origins one least expects. Are Casimir, Lin, Tezael, and Hadrin the saviors Laisix needs, or are they simply the only ones who rise to the call? An examination of the “chosen one” archetype.
Homeward- Sci-fi/cyberpunk/dystopian YA space political drama (a lot, I know). Victoria “Vika” Ricardo has just graduated at the top of her class from the Interplanetary Military Academy, and received her first assignment. As captain of the interplanetary ship the Early Bird, she is to safely deliver cargo and personnel to their destinations- including the young heir of the powerful Wakahisa trading family, Tomoya Wakahisa. However, interplanetary tensions are on the rise, and Vika and her crew are caught in the crossfire.
And that’s about it for my writeblr introduction! I’m looking forward to meeting new writeblrs and posting my WiP intros.
