Why I think In-ho isn’t being forced to be the frontman, and genuinely agrees with what he does:
-he watches the games alone with a lack of remorse on his face. if he was being forced, why doesn’t he look like it? why doesnt he seemed forced to watch it? no im not saying he gets much pleasure from watching it, but he sure doesn’t seem distressed.
-he talks about his dehumanizing opinions and ways of thinking with enough flow and assurance that it seems he genuinely does think that way and is not lying/forced/manipulated
-he shoots people who don’t follow the rules without hesitation
-in fact, there is no remorse or hesitation that we witness until his brother is involved
-he wants his brother to join him. if he was forced, why would he even bring that up? he wouldn’t want his brother to be threatened to join. he wouldn’t want him there if he didn’t agree with what he was doing
-the entire second season is him wanting to prove his points so much that he makes gihun go through absolute hell so that he will break down and understand.
-in season 2, junho seems to be juggling the fact that he knows deep down inho chose his role in the games
…
no, im not saying this is entirely fact since we aren’t sure yet and won’t be until the next season, but there are clear signs to me that inho actively chose and continues to choose to be the frontman. Do I think its possible that they used manipulation and perhaps even threatened him to chose this in the very beginning? Yes, but even if thats true, I think even then he held these beliefs and since that day is chosing to be the frontman. No matter what happened for him to be the frontman, he is still doing horrible things and being ruthlessly cruel. he doesn’t deserve redemption or forgiveness in the slightest, not from anyone.
i love hating on inho for being evil to gihun and then writing him to be significantly worse than he already is
gi-hun is shown handcuffed to a bed while everyone (seemingly) votes. do you think he is now unable to vote? this seems strange since inho (especially as frontman) has emphasized how much he values fairness and the idea that everyone has a voice
hiii! im sorry ive taken forever to answer these. i got busy and i kept putting it off because i needed to watch the teaser and take notes which would take a hot minute…so now im definitely late to the whole teaser party.
i still need to rewatch it and take notes but this is one I can answer at the moment.
i do think the reason he is handcuffed is because he’s not allowed to vote or he’s not allowed to be around the others while they vote because he keeps trying to sway the vote.
honestly, i wouldn’t be surprised if they do take away gihuns vote.
the fairness ship sailed a long, long time ago. they have never been upfront about the games being deadly. they have games that are inherently not fair and take extra skill, not randomization or luck. they know more about you than you do about them. they stalk you to recruit you. they get you went you’re at rock bottom. they recruit the weak and disadvantaged. they treat gihun specially because he’s there so that the frontman can prove a point to him. inho manipulated and sabotaged gihun. does any of that seem fair?? inho is a hypocrite. none of it is fair.
dont get me wrong i get what you mean by strange I hope i don’t sound condescending or anything. i just want to provide proof that inho has never been fair.
