Testosterone Injection Troubles and Solutions
I had my third doctor's appointment today at the clinic. I mentioned to my doctor that when doing my injections I would some times not be able to just stick myself once and inject, I would have to stick myself 3 or 4 times to get it right. This was because I would partially insert the needle and then be unable to fully insert it because of severe pain and discomfort. Sometimes there would be an abnormal amount of bleeding after pulling the needle out during a failed attempt. If anyone out there is having issues similar to me, I have a few tips my doctor recommended I try: 1) Make sure the leg you are injecting into is completely relaxed. Having tension in the muscle can make it more difficult to insert the needle and some times cause pain. 2) It is okay to remove the needle and try a different area of the leg. Or the other leg even! 3) If you have lower body fat, it may be more difficult or painful to inject in the thighs, just make sure to relax. 4) If you experience an abnormal amount of bleeding after removing the needle, it's okay. Just put a bandaid on it and apply pressure. 5) If, after removing the needle, you notice some of the testosterone leaking out of the injection hole, do not panic, this is very normal. It is okay to take your finger (sanitized of course) and apply pressure to the injection site to keep the testosterone from leaking out. 6) It is a good idea to lightly massage the injection site after the injection is complete to work the solution into your muscle a bit easier. *This information is specific to intramuscular injections in the thigh, I am not sure that this applies to other areas of the body or subcutaneous injections.* ***This information was given to me by my personal doctor. If your doctor says something different, follow their advice first!!***
