"Autumn" and "Winter". From the series "The Four Seasons"
Two poles of a single cycle, captured on paper through the transparency of watercolour and the graphic sharpness of ink. In "Autumn," noble decay reigns: warm ochres, cinnabar red, and gold of foliage dissolve in the damp air, leaving on the paper delicate, slightly tremulous branch-lines. This is the last warmth before the long sleep.
"Winter" enters into a dialogue with its predecessor as its complete opposite. The palette is sparse to the extreme: bluish shadows, the whiteness of the background perceived as a thick snow cover, and the finest, almost monochrome ink, tracing the fragile graphic silhouette of frozen grasses. If "Autumn" breathes, then "Winter" freezes in anticipation. Together, they create a meditative narrative about the inevitability of change and the beauty of every single moment.
