the Love You Receive Tarot Spread
So, I am definitely one of those weird people that loves Valentine’s Day. When I was little, my mom and I would go to the craft section of a local store, buy up all the pink, red, and white construction paper, too much glitter, not nearly enough glue, and all the paper doilies you can think of.
For a week, I would tirelessly make a custom valentine for each child in my class (which ended up being somewhere between 28 and 32 valentines, not including the teachers at school.) I wanted to make sure no one was left out and that everyone was happy on the day we exchanged cards.
I think a lot of people hate Valentine’s Day because they are jaded. It has always been the cool, edgy thing for people to say “it is so commercialized; it’s just a way for flower or chocolate companies or Hallmark to make money.” Granted, yeah. That is capitalism.
But for me, the spirit of Valentine’s Day has simply always been about love, whether that be romantic, platonic, whatever. It was about doing something for someone to show how much you appreciate them. Yeah, you can do that every day, but every day doesn’t have a color coordinated theme to utilize. (Virgos love a good theme, y’all. So do southern folks. I was doomed from childhood.)
I woke up this morning knowing I was going to create a Tarot spread. As I pondered what kind I would make, I kept hearing a phrase in my head: The love you receive.
This Tarot spread is a little selfish and I don’t think that is a bad thing. It is about the energy you put out into the world, the intention behind that energy, and the love you receive in return. I hope this provides you some insight this February.

Card Three: The love you receive in return for the energy you have shared.

What kind of energy are you putting out into the world?

Are you investing into worthy causes and people?
Are you paying attention to your instincts and intuition?
