Grey and light, it fell like snow through his fingertips, numb and cold, he didn’t dare cry.
Here he knelt with the stains of grey across what used to used be his warm brown overalls. He was gone.
Ink had only left for a second, a single second, and yet, his dust stained Ink’s hands in a color that he hated so much.
He was gone.
Error was gone.
What had followed next become a blur to him, the trails of fixing a painful problem that Ink tried to ignore, but no matter how much he begged for this reality to be gone, it wouldn’t. More dust was spilled in Ink’s little experiment, but unlike Error, Ink didn’t care; he didn’t know the creatures being destroyed, so why should he care? All that mattered was retrieving what was rightfully his. He had put so much time and effort into Error, and to have lost him so quickly, how could Ink not beat himself up over this.
Error had just been there, and now- he was nothing but a pile of Dust.
All the dust of a dead loved one. You can’t miss a single speck.
Enough paint to make a body just the right size.
A soul, but must be stable.
A wish that you can turn back on.
Magic.
Hope.
Everything was dark, pitch-black for the longest time, all my senses were dull, and my mind was in a haze.
What was I? Was I even a thing? A person who could feel?
The longer I stayed in the dark, the longer I could feel myself getting lost in it. I was becoming one with it. It felt like my body was floating in an inky abyss, with my body being dragged down into her depths. I was being ripped apart repeatedly, like someone tearing at my seams then putting me back together only to shred me to bits again. So much time passed, but was it days? Hours? Minutes? It’s hard to tell when all you see is darkness, and all you feel is the icy pain of a silver dagger piercing your soul.
Had this always been my life? I don’t think so, I guess…. I was once a monster, I had friends, enemies, fears, and hopes, but that’s all gone now, lost in the abyss. One shard of what I was remained. A hatred of clutter, a fear of touch, and one single word that danced through my mind. ‘Useless.’
When I finally began to think that this was it, this was all I was and ever was going to be, and maybe all I ever was, it got bright, colors of yellow, magenta, and cyan, too bright.
Then darkness again. How I hated the dark, it made my stomach turn and left me feeling alone.
Time passed…
Or it didn’t pass…
I couldn’t even tell, just darkness and darkness and endless silence.
Then it got bright again! I never knew how much comfort I’d feel from color and Ink, more radiant and more brilliant, and it stayed for a bit, but then it was dark again.
And it hurt...
I never knew how much I would miss the colors when in the dark, but I did, and it hurt.
I missed them.
Finally, it grew bright once more, and I had to snap my eyes shut to keep myself from becoming blind. I stayed that way for a moment as I slowly became aware of my surroundings. I was no longer floating or being dragged down. Maybe I’d finally reached the bottom? There was this pressing feeling, along the back of my skull, my shoulders and upper back, my butt, my arms, my heels, and fingertips, like maybe something was trying to keep me from falling any more? It was strange. I curled my fingers, slowly pressing them along the surface. It was smooth and cool. I don’t remember this feeling at all.
Finally, I steeled my nerves, and I opened my eyes to find nothing but empty white. It scared me yet comforted me at the same time. It was too much, overwhelming my sense with only the quick look, so I snapped my eyes closed one more. Gingerly I ran out along my side, to feel for an edge or anything I’d have to worry about, but… It was all smooth and cool.
I took another moment of my eyes being closed before I opened them once more. This time the bright white wasn’t so scary. It was like, an old friend greeting me after a long trip.
Blinking back tears, I shifted and looked around. It was just me and another figure whose back was turned to me. I stared at him for a moment, examining him as he shook violently with weeping tremors, his voice broke as he gasped for breath.
“I’m trying,” He called out into the white, voice broken shoulder’s shaking. He still hadn’t noticed me. “I’m trying, but it’s so hard, I can’t find the missing pieces! I have all the ingredients, but you’re, you’re still gone.” An empty vial sat beside him. It had an indigo cape with a heart on it sitting beside him. I… I wanted to reach out to him, but I found my hand trembling when I did.
Was I scared? Or was I excited?
I looked at my trembling limb before shifting to hold it to my chest. What was wrong with me?
His body radiated this warm, this almost comforting feeling from him. I wanted to go to him. I sat up slowly so I could turn to look at him, staring at him for a long few moments, then shifting to my knees. I began to move closer to the figure but stopped and looked down. My body stained the white with smears of black, cyan, yellow, and magenta. It was as if I was a printer that had just exploded all over the floor.
What was going on?
I knew this wasn’t normal. Did my body always behave this way?
Did it behave this way before I woke up, or was this new?
What should I do?
The Real Beginning
I’d been living with Ink for the past few weeks if you could call it living. He ignored me mostly, only paid attention to me when he was upset about Error, but even then it wasn’t pleasant. He was both interested in me and annoyed by my presence. I understand why though, I’m not him, I’m not the one he loves. I had to follow him everywhere and I found so many souls afraid of me, but that was okay… it would be okay. It took a while before I could find any more remnants of Error, and through stitched together words of dozens of his victims, I knew what Ink wanted, what he desired so truly as to create me. Maybe I could give it to him.
“Ink!~” I called out as I followed after him as if I was a duckling waddling after my mother. I guess you could say I had changed, or maybe I was reverting. Eyes that flickered with a new hope through a bright yellow color of lights. He ignored me, as always, I mean what was I expecting? “I learned to do that yarn thing while you were asleep!” I called after him, yes, the ‘yarn thing’. He turned back to look at me, the remnants of his loved one seeping through my inky coating once more as he looked over me.
“Yarn thing?” He finally spoke eyeing me over with curiosity, then pain, then numbness, “What are you talking about?” he asked.
“This!” I responded, forcing the chipper sound to my voice, reaching up and grabbing the dripping bright cyan that sat below my eyes, then pulled. The pain lifted a bit and soon formed yarn that was being pulled from my eyes. “The yarn thing! See!” He practically dropped broomy as he fell to his knees and grabbed my forearms.
“What do you remember!” He always asked, especially when I did something reminded him of his dearly departed. The grip on my arms was tense and tight, if I’d been human, it probably would have bruised. It tightened when I didn’t respond fast enough. “WHAT DO YOU REMEMBER!” he practically screamed.
“I-I… um, okay, just give me a sec.” I said taking in a sharp breath before thinking, it was fuzzy, “Books… I remember books,” but when I started his hands trembled, “And um, you, you were, hovering over me, saying something… ugh.” I grabbed my head, it always hurt to force it. “I’m sorry!” I wasn’t ready… I’m never ready… Why can’t I just make him happy!
To Be Happy

~Time Skip~
The smooth leather that wrapped around Error’s neck gently tugged as the leash was pulled softly. Ink’s face was shrouded, hiding any lingering emotion from Error as they walked through the antivoid. One short stop into a fell universe and a bright yellow leather collar clung to the dark teal inky bones of Error. He didn’t mind it, actually liked the fact that his creator was now taking claim of what was his, but a part of him worried. They walked past some of error’s own things before they stopped where the white ground had been stained grey and black, Inked!Error’s birthplace, Error’s death place. He hadn’t even noticed ink hit the ground until he was tugged roughly to join his kneeling form, staring at the remnants of his old love.
“You know why I created you?” He asked, hand twisting to wrap the leash tighter around his hand. “Why you exist?”
“To make you happy?” Error attempted to answer but was interrupted by a hard yank to the leash, he swallowed thickly.
“NO!” He snapped, Ink had become fragile since Error’s demise, easily angered, easily hurt, but also guarded with his walls up. He still refused to believe this new Error was here to stay, but he clung to him like being more than 5 feet away would cause him to melt. “You’re here to replace him! To be him! Why aren’t you him! Why aren’t you angry! And distant! And-And-! WHY AREN’T YOU ERROR!” Error flinched from Ink’s anger. How could he do that? How could he be what Ink wanted?
“Tell me how.” He whispered, “I don’t remember, so please, tell me, I want to make you happy.”
It was Error though shorter, much shorter. Needless to say Ink took some liberties while creating his little abomination. His bones dripped with an inky goo, black as night with magenta, cyan, and yellow coating the once white. His eyes a bright pink color with yellow irises, bright blue streaks dripping down from them. He wore a blue hoodie that matched his tears with a heart on the front and trim that matched his eyes. It looked like a printer had thrown up on him.

What exactly is the new dynamic with Ink and Error 2.0?
Ink was distant as time went on, seeing Error like this hurt beyond belief, so he went back to work, however, the moment he stepped out of the anti-void into the doodle sphere through a portal a pain-filled his bones, a familiar echoing pain. “Error,” He breathed looking back at where the portal once stood, what was this feeling? Why did it hurt so much? Reopening the portal he felt his body ache at the sight. Error was right where Ink had left him, however, something wasn’t right.
“Error?” Ink asked softly while stepping into the Anti-void towards the smaller out-code. Error didn’t even move to look at Ink, he just remained totally still back to his creator. “Come on, look at me.” Ink said worry flooded his voice as he rushed to Error’s side, but what he saw sent a shock wave through his bones. It looked like all the color had drained from the other skeleton, leaving just black white, and grey. “What the hell…” Ink mumbled not even daring to touch Error at first, worrying touching him would infect Ink to.
“Ink?” Error’s voice was hollow as if every emotion had been drained from him all at once, leaving a husk in its stand. It was as if Error was just a puppet, like those dolls he used to make.
“What happened to you…” He began but he felt like he already knew. “Show me your soul.” He demanded and so Error followed his instructions, pulling out the now dull grey soul. “Fuck,” He mumbled watching the goopy ink dripping from it as if the ink was melting…. That’s when it hit him, “You’re melting,” He breathed looking over his glitch, “No… no….No no no no! You can’t be!” Ink watched in horror as the paint that made up Error began to drip from his skull, melting. He didn’t even give it much thought as he wrapped his arms around Error and pulled him close. “You can’t leave me now, it’s… you’ve been together for so long I thought I could drop my guard… I thought I could get attached.” Ink buried his face into Error’s shoulder, trying to hold back the tears, the pain he felt, he guessed it was due to the remnants of the paint he had drunk earlier.
“I’m….” Error began, voice growing hoarse, “I’m not going anywhere.” He finished.
“But you are, I can see you melting, I can feel it I know I know-”
“Ink! Look at me, does it look like I’m melting.”
“YES!” Ink yelled refusing to look at Error, he couldn’t see Error melt again, he couldn’t watch him die again, but, minutes passed and Error remained mostly stable, so finally Ink grew strong enough to pull away and look at his creation. The color had returned to Error, and that smile he had, it made Ink’s bones throb making him want to discover the phantom feeling in him. “Error…” Ink managed to mumble out.
“See, not going anywhere, I told you Ink, gotta believe me.” Error said wiping the paint that stained Ink’s face. “Now let’s get you washed up.”
“You…” Ink said through a shaky breath, “You aren’t to leave my side ever again, I don’t care where I go, you’re coming with.” He couldn’t lose his glitch again, he refused to let go.
“Of course, anything for you Ink. I didn’t want you to leave me alone in the first place.”
-Ar- Error can teleport, however, he isn’t quite good at it yet, and Error can’t be alone :3
Also!!! I AM BACK :D Hiatus over! I’m feeling a lot better now that I’m actually taking care of myself!
Beginning -> Error… Wake Up.
Previous-> Help him Error.
Next -> Ink go to Work
Swallow
Once Ink felt Error swallow he released his mouth, which put Error in a coughing fit while attempting to turn over, but he was still pinned, tears burning the corner of his eyes sockets. “I-ink!” He cried out as he tried to breath but found it hard from the way he was sitting. It took a moment to take effect but his eyelights began to glow even brighter yelow then he seemed to calm down a bit. “Wow! Your eyes look so cool!” He said once the coughing calmed down, his left eye turning into a star which seemed to weird out Ink enough to loosen his grip on Error. Error squirmed his arms out and grabbed Ink’s face yanking him down so he could get a better look at the anger in his eyes. Though his body erupted in ‘Errors’ he stared in amazement, “It’s so cool!!!”
“What are you doing? You hate being touch!” Ink snapped but that didn’t stop the small creation from pulling Ink’s face in to examine it. “Fuck I didn’t give you wonder. So why are you wondering?!” He said glancing down at the bottle in his hand, yep it was yellow, should be happiness.
“Your vials! I can’t believe they work on me?! That is soooo interesting.” Error said leaning in closely face inches from Ink’s. Ink couldn’t help but wrap his arms around Error’s waist as he leaned in, god what was he doing. More Errors appeared on Error, he almost looked sick. If Ink had a soul it would have been throbbing. He wished his Error hugged him like this, but it would send his Error into a panic attack.
“Are you okay?” Ink asked actually feeling a bit concerned that the paint had been so much, but the concern was short lived when Error started running his hands over his chest and messing with the vials. “Don’t mess with those!” He snapped but Error didn’t listen pulling out one to look at it. Ink panicked just a bit and did what he could and squeezed error close to he couldn’t move far. “Put it back.” He warned. More errors formed blinding the creation’s vision as he felt for where to put it back, the squeezing causing the ink blot to glitch out.
“Ink I don’t feel well,” his fingers curled and grabbed inks shirt before it finally happened, a loud long beep came from him and once that stopped a bar appeared over his head reading ‘Rebooting...’
“Shit,” he mumbled, relieved that another part of his Error was showing through, but disappointed he couldn’t hold error like this without him crashing. “Okay, fine, let’s get you comfortable.”
