Inkgoretober prompt 4: Cannibalism

Perhaps this is an odd way to introduce these two, but… meet Axel and Jamboree!

Axel is a company commander like most steelheads- and said company happens to be the one Rig is a part of. He’s also the muscle in Caesar’s little boss-group, so he does most of the Goldie’s dirty work for them. He’s intimidating, ruthless, callous to everyone …

…except for Jam, his loving wife. She’s the only one he opens up to and treats with tender care. She’s certainly sweeter than him, but she’s a little rambunctious, rough around the edges and just as imposing to lesser salmonids as her hubby, even if she’s nicer. She’s also rather reasonable for a Maws- as long she’s well fed- and often stops Axel and even Caesar from going too far.

Though they act Caesar’s undeserved Scary Fish Privilege, the two actually don’t like him all that much and put up with him more out of obligation and wanting to obey his influential, extremely-enabling father… but when an often-targeted member of the troops they oversee goes missing and Caesar goes all out on a scapegoating crusade, they decide it’s time to step in…

Oh, and they also kind of want to eat each other.
