        DOESN'T HE WANT TO BE DELIVERED FROM THIS FILTHY WORLD? This world full of liars and sinners and demons by any other name? This world that even God turned away from? Didn't he want to join them in their divine mission to deliver this world from the sins that all those after them had thrust upon them? It was never any of their choice, just as this was never any of his choice. They only wanted paradise. He only wanted paradise. He wanted LOVELOVELOVE but he kept refusing it. He would see those blue skies again. He wanted to see the sea again? He could be one of their children. He could be loved —— but he insists on making everything so difficult.

        A quiet hum and the distant sound of a chickadee's song as he makes his way down the hall. A dull knock on the door ( old habits die hard ) before he opens it, a slight sway in his step.
