(thebrotherscupheadandmugman) Cuphead kicked a small rock on the ground with his hands stuffed into his pockets and his straw seemingly deflated. He was really hoping he could find Cala Maria and ask for Mugman, but she didn't seem to be around. Now it was starting to get dark, and he still had to find a date for himself yet, and his brother. He's so frustrated that he hadn't even noticed he passed Blin on the street.

After all her thoughts on who should she ask Blin felt like she needed to think about something different. What to wear, for example. But when she finally got time to go for shopping it was too late. Most of shops were closed. And she could not buy a dress in grocery store, seriously.

So, she was just slowly walking in her home direction when she passed by Cuphead. Blin had to stop and look back to make sure it was the cup she knew. Well, it was him. Just in not-so-good mood.

“Hey, Cups,” she called out, “You’re looking as blue as your brother again. What’s up?”

“...Why is ‘Dread is a smelly loser!’ written on the wall here?”

“This is the fourth thing I’ve seen about ‘Dread’!”

“Yeesh, whoever this Dread guy is...nobody likes him, huh?”

“Why is there so much writing on the wall?”

“Woah! Someone spilled ink on the floor!!”

“Well...guess it wouldn’t be the Inkwell Ball without a puddle of ink and some booze.”

“Good gosh, don’t eat the cake! Someone put hot-sauce on it!”

“Care to dance, ____?”

“I guess ____ was right. The punch was spiked.”

“...You didn’t have the punch did you?”

“HOT HOT HOT HOT!!!!”

“Someone put ghost peppers in the majority of the food?”

“I think you’ve had one too many drinks.”

“The ball just started! How are you this drunk already?!”

“Aren’t you a little young to be drinking?!”

“Golly, I dunno why, but that punch kinda burned on the way down...heh heh heh.”

Inkwell Ball Week | Day 2 | Who should I ask?

Since getting the invitation Blin could not stop thinking about the Ball. Even though she had Spring’s permission to go, the girl still had a lot of quiestions and worries in her head.

One of them was the question about her company for the Ball. Spring made it clear that she could not go due to work. That gave Blin a mission to find a friend to go with. A friend. Yeah. Something told Blin that she would not get a date for this Ball. Well, having a friend to go with was a good option.

But who, thou? She wanted to ask Cherise but she heard the rumour about that green dragon from Isle Two who wanted to ask Cherise too. She also had some thoughts about Cherise’s crush so… Blin was not going to ruin it for them.

Mango and Goopy were not an option either for… obvious to pancake reasons. Some of them same as for Cherise and that dragon.

Beppi seemed like he had someone too and Blin did not know the clown that well.

Oh, guess it’s a mission for today.

Inkwell Ball Week | Day 1 | You’re Invited!

Blinchik was sitting next to Spring while the older woman was going through their mail. Tha pancake did not really pay any attention to all these papers due to reading a book. But the girl could not help but giggle at her godmother’s reactions at some of them.

“And that is… Oh, and they call this a commercial! Seriously, It’s just a mockery of design!” The guardian said with a disappointed sigh.

“Don’t be so strict. They tried,” Blin replied, glancing at the poor paper. It did not look that bad, from her point of view. “And the add didn’t do anything wrong.”

And at this second Blinchik’s eyes catched the sight of something rather good looking against rather boring bills and adds.

The girl took it to get a closer look and read outloud, ” “You are invited”… Что это?[What’s this?] “

Spring got interested at such statement. She took the paper and quickly looked through all the information in it. At least it looked better than the trash she had to look at everyday.

“Well, lookie here. Guess what, it’s an invitation to the Ball! It’s only few days away… Sounds fun,” Spring said.

“Ball?! Really?! Can I go?! I really liked the last one, please, can I go?!” Blin’s eyes were sparkling.

“Wow, slow down, will you? You are seventeen, who am I to say no to you? Of course you can go! But you have to go without me. I’m going to be buried with work I need to do when this pretty event is going to be.”

Blin jumped at her godmother with hugs.
