Hihihi I wanna learn more about Creative Life! :0 When did Creative Life 1 and 2 happen? Were they filmed? Do they operate by Life Series rules? How do Watchers work in that system- do they also have green-yellow-red lives, or are they exempt from that?
Also, I wanna learn more about w!Pixie- what roleplay moment do you think is most telling about their character? I wanna learn more about its worldview and what is most compelling to you about her!!
HI INKY I LOVE YOU /P THANK YOU FOR ASKING ME ABOUT CL
Okay, so. Creative life is a MCYT fandom event, specifically a kind of gift exchange inspired by the Life Series. CL1 happened last August-November, CL2 is currently ongoing! (You can keep up with it over at @creative-life-event ).
It's not filmed, as it's not a life series played in Minecraft, but you can join the Discord server as a Listener to watch what's happening, and keep up with it!
It operates by modified Life Series rules, modified to allow the format to be a gift exchange. The Players start on 3 lives, and can attack people by creating fanworks for someone else, based on their Wants/DNWs. The person recieving the attack needs to create a Defence, or they lose either half or a full life (again, matching the attacker's Wants/DNWs). They can also heal other Players, also by creating a fanwork. To simulate non-Player based deaths, the Watcher Helpers create Accidental Deaths, which have the Players losing half a heart. Traps can also be set, too! Overall, the aim of the game is to create fanworks for other people, of Life Series & other MCYT series, and (optionally) a Creative Life sona. There's an optional Roleplay element, which a lot of Players opt in to, and that the Watchers also partake in!
The Watchers are the Mods of the event. We run the event and make sure it goes smoothly, but a lot of us wanted to take part in the RP, so we all made Watcher Sonas, and that's where W!Pixie comes from! Because the Watchers are mods, we are exempt from the life system, and cannot be attacked (though a lot of Players still try to in Event Chat channels /silly)
Watcher Pixie...... My stupid idiot whom I hate <33333 I think there's a few different rp moments that's the most telling. The rp with Nova, where Pixie learned that their actions have consequences and make people upset, and how Pixie broke down at losing a friend, was very telling. There's also some rps with Fledge I've done, where she kinda learns/remembers that she is, at her core, a kind and caring person. That they'd do anything for their friends. And despite all of the brainwashing and mind control of its mentor, Pixie is still a nice person, deep down. I think Fledge is the person that most shows this, because unlike with all their Watcher friends, Pixie has to actively break past their programming to be friends with him, meaning sea sees the 'true' Pixie more than most people.
Pixie's worldview is complicated tbh. On the one hand, she's naturally a lovely person, who's been isolated its entire life, and is desperate for friends. Once they get those friends, they'll do anything for them. But on the other, she's been brainwashed to be the 'Perfect Watcher', which involves not having friends, and putting Watcher duties first (which includes doing horrible things to other people in order to Feed off their emotions). Pixie's constantly split between the two, meaning one moment she can be bubbly, excitable, and sociable, the next, quiet, reserved, and almost scared to be herself and step out of line. I've got a list of like. What things trigger more or less of each side of Pixie, meaning it's easier to rp when she's fallen into 'Watcher Thinking'.
Tbh, the most compelling thing to me about her is how it's not a good person. But she wants to be. It's just everything around them is pulling her in different directions. It never gets the chance to ask, 'What do I want to be?' Only what others want them to be. I can't wait to see where Pixie's arc ends up, tbh, cause right now it's anyone's game xD
