When we are traveling we try to find hidden gem restaurants and this time we succeeded. This is Top Notch in Austin. It is the home of the drive in scene from the movie Dazed and Confused starring Matthew McConaughey. 🚎 There is an old fashioned drive in outside and places to sit down inside. And it is hoppin! It was packed while we were there. 🚎 The food was wonderful. We ordered a burger with cheese with everything, the fried fish, sweet potato fries and onion rings for all of us to share. 🚎 When we review a restaurant we try to all try all of the food to get different opinions from each of us. 🚎 The burger was outstanding, it had the perfect amount of everything, making it very tasty. The fish was deep fried perfectly and remained crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside. The onion rings were heavily battered in what we can only guess was possibly cornmeal or corn flakes. They were a bit to heavy for the little and I but honey bunny liked them. And then there was the sweet potato fries, simple, salted, and yummy. 🚎 We give this little stop a thumbs up for you to try. It is what we consider a bit pricey, but you get Austin atmosphere, wonderful people, good food and from time to time Matthew McConaughey. We hear he comes in quite often to swing the Soul Pole, (watch it!
