It’s officially begun: the sequel to my fic, Innocent Games. I posted this first chapter years ago after I finished Innocent Games the first time. Since the rewrite I’ve been coming up with more and more ideas for this story and I cannot bear to leave it unwritten.

This takes place a little more than ten years after the epilogue, meaning all the kids are grown now. As you can tell by the synopsis, this story is going to be Motomiya-clan centric, but because I love all my digidestined fools, they are all in this, every single one. With purpose. Oh, and plot? It's got more than originally planned. Why do I do this to myself?

Well, I’m crying because I had posted this chapter a few days ago and now, as of today, I have officially re-written the rest of the story. I feel accomplished. Mostly because in this second (probably more like tenth) draft I can tell how much I’ve improved as a writer. I still have a long way to go, but I am so much more satisfied with the story this time around. The last three chapters (plus the epilogue) will be posted about 10 days apart so people have time to read and comment (even if you just tell me what scene you liked best, you have no idea how much I live for that) But yeah, it’s done again. The final chapter (not the epilogue) is like 43 pages long. Why.  I have already written a bit of the sequel and have it outlined. Ugh.

I will stop writing fanfiction someday I swear.

Feels good to know I have a more concise (hopefully better written) version to sit in internet limbo for eternity or at least until the digital apocalypse.  I am 3.5 chapters into writing the sequel which will probably be about 10 chapters based on the rough outline. It is purely self-indulgent. Highly Motomiya-centric with the all-star cast making all kinds of fun cameos. Do not expect an epic action/adventure like this monster. It will be called: Remember.

Doing another run through of the last couple of chapters of Innocent Games and realized two things: 1. I am adding another new scene in the next chapter because reasons. 2. It is so ridiculously long that I’m going to have to cut it into two (one is still going to be much too long compared to the other, but whatcha gonna do?) So there will be 28 chapters plus an epilogue in the new version, making 29 chapters total. So about three more weeks of this garbage.

In this part of Izzy's new world, the stars were far brighter than they were in Tokyo.  Sora wondered if the sky changed with each part. If the space surrounding the digiworld portions would always be this clear, without man around to pollute it.

When she stared at it long enough, past the strange trees and misplaced street signs, she could almost imagine she was in Kyoto, where stars still stood a chance. Sometimes she would watch them through the telescope at the university on those small occasions she would visit her father there. It was peaceful in that city, more lush and ancient than Tokyo and she often wondered why her mother tried so hard to build a forest in the middle of concrete when they could be there instead.

Back when they were trapped in Digiworld, Sora wondered what worlds lied in space there. If there were other planets like the ones in Earth’s solar system or if their sun was one of those stars, a small glittering speck in the distance. ....
