11 February 2014. I'm attending my first #Berlinale and as every festival beginner, with your regular accreditation, and over 300 films to make up your day-to-day schedule, confusion and - sometimes - disappointment reign, specially if you're late to catch up the morning queue to get your daily film tickets. So on this day, I can't recall exactly what I had on my schedule but for the evening slot, I couldn't manage but get a ticket for some film called KRAFTIDIOTEN, directed by a certain Hans Petter Moland that was in the Official Competition. The screening was at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele (which I had never been to before at the time). I do absolutely no research about the film. I only look up the routes to reach the venue. To my luck, my colleague/flatmate @__majortom also tells me he got a ticket to some "weird sounding film" (aka #Kraftidioten). So we go together to the screening. This ends up to be one of my favorite film screenings that I still remember to this day. The genuine laughs. The heartache. Worrying about "Nils" and if he'll ever make it. The astonishing icy landscapes. The slick "Count". The tears (from extreme laughter). The dialogues. I can't recommend it enough. After waiting for some 4 years, I am so thrilled to finally be able to present it @MetropolisCinema in #NorwegianFilmCycle this Tuesday 5 September. If you're in #Beirut, cancel all your plans and come discover it. You don't have the chance to watch such a fine, hilarious Norwegian film in LB that often. (PS1: There isn't that much serious violence. We got used to seeing much more disturbing scenes in the news. PS2: the film stars Stellan Skarsgård. Need I say more?) #NorwayinLebanon #NorwegianFilmCycle #NorwegianCinema #Norway #NorwegianFilms #blackcomedy #StellanSkarsgård #proudprogrammer #Beirut #cinéma #icy #inorderofdisappearance #refroidis #mustwatch #favoritefilms (at Metropolis Cinema)
